I agree with the others, for a real life engagement you should do it in real life. I proposed to my fiancée using the delivery Moogle plushie. I put the ring in his delivery bag, and when she opened it I said "Special delivery, Kupo". Not that I'm suggesting you copy what I did, but there are plenty of ways to get creative in real life.

Do you live together? If so, then you could plan some sort of proposal surprise in-game that she runs into, and then that would CUE your real life proposal. Like taking her to some really romantic place in-game and using the "kneel" emote and then opening a trade window with a diamond ring in it.

Then when she turns to you and asks what you're doing, you're ready on one knee with an actual ring or something.

But if you don't live together and play from separate places, then proposing in-game is a really, REALLY bad idea. Just don't do it.

the question is ...would she like something like that for her RL engagement ? if yes, then go ahead with your idead, as many people as you will ask they all will have something good or bad or in between to say, this decision can only be taken by you and her nobody else, and you know her enough well to know if she will like something like this or not.

if you have a house you can do it at your own house.....invite your friends to your own house and in the garden make the proposal with all forms and stuff and coordinate with a friend to drop to your /Her RL house the real engagement ring that you of course have bought right ?...

I am not a huge fan of huge stuff I prefer the intimity but if that is something you will love to do..by all means....nothign forbids you to do it !!! we all take chances in life right ?

In the end, this is a UNIQUE moment, something that you have only ONE chance to do and it best be GRAND see what I mean ?

I hope it works out for you, but if I were your girlfriend, I would have prefered to do this in real life with the guy that I would stay the rest of my life with it. Remember this is going to be a magical moment that you guys are never going to forget and you share this with your friends, parents, inlaws,children and grandchildren. Are you sure, you want to do this ingame and not plan her something magical in real life? I dont know your girlfriend and maybe she prefers a ingame proposol, but for alot of girls this is a moment where they want to be the princess waiting for their prince on a white horse to sweep them off their feet.

Now if a Square Enix employee does this for you, then you need to remember this will open a box of requests. Other players who want to have the same thing like you, will request it and Square Enix need to do the same for them or else it will be favouritism/discrimination. The shitstorm that will hit Square Enix will be hard, if they do this for certain players and not others.

If this was Ragnarok, I would have come with my Scholar, but sadly I cant. I do wish you the best, but I also hope you rethink this and ask yourself if this is something your girlfriend realy wants? Or is this something you like to see happen?

PS: I am curious why is a ingame proposol the most fitting way for your girlfriend and you?

Its odd to me how many strangers think they know what will make you and your girlfriend happy.

A treasure hunt is tricky business. Since there's no way to leave objects in the game world the only thing I can think of is to enlist other players to act as steps in the hunt. You could begin with your first clue, which will bring her to where the first player is hiding. They would have a prepared macro (to avoid spelling errors!) that has the clue leading to the second hidden player and so on.
