Hello,
I haven't seen any solid stat weights yet for SMN in 3.0, which is why I am posing this question. Currently, my gear is all i190 except for Body and one Ring (i188). I realize that you always want to upgrade your weapon first, however in this case I have no way of easily obtaining an i190 Body. I have 0 shafts (upgraded everything else first and a piece for my NIN), so it will be 4 weeks to even get a Body upgrade.

In this situation, I am wondering what the thoughts are on getting my i200 body vs i200 weapon.

The stats would adjust as follows:

Hive Grimoire to i200 Weapon:
+ 2 Weapon damage
+ 9 Int
+ 9 Crit
+64 Spell speed
-56 Determination

i180 Body to i200 Body:
+0 weapon damage
+15 Int
+86 Crit
+57 Determination
-69 Spell Speed
-48 Accuracy (I'm already over 600 ACC, so this is fine).

The body obviously won't give me weapon damage, however I am gaining more INT, trading SS for DET, and excess Accuracy for a massive chunk of Crit.

I did the same thing. Went with Chest and will get the ring and upgrade it to 210 next week(Giving me 11 more int over the i180 one). However, if you still don't have access to A2S, you can go with Chest+Gloves, which if you compare it with the weapon, will give you: -2 WD, +10 int, -81 accuracy, +77 crit, +163 det and -143 SSPD.

You also have to take into account that the ESO chest will be BiS, while the ESO weapon will likely not, so that will mostly be wasted ESO if you spend it on the weapon. And since I couldn't get the prototype chest till two more weeks, getting the ESO chest was the better choice especially since it will help with A3S this week.

In terms of secondary stats priority, based on Dervy's testings it goes Crit > Det > SSPD.

Any other thoughts on this? Now that I have the Esoterics to buy the Body, I'm still on the fence.

Does the 2 Weapon Damage heavily trump the stats I gain from going from i180 to i200 on the Body piece?

I doubt I'll be joining any hardcore Savage statics anytime soon due to my work schedule, but I don't want to limit myself either.

1 Weapon Damage is worth about 8 INT according to a lot of the work in the damage thread. Unless you are trying cutting edge content and want some help a week early, the weapon is still the stronger upgrade. Although when looking at it like this, it is closer that I thought. But 10 int (what the weapon wins by when you convert the weapon damage to 16 int) beats the differences in the secondary stats. Remember that while crit is weighted more, the 3 secondaries are still very close, it's not like the gap from INT to WD, or from the secondaries to INT.

it's ok if you get the body piece first+ring. Just remember that it's a minor boost only if you have your INT over a certain threshold for secondary stats to matter. Also, you will end up buying the weapon right after the body/ring since it's the next best thing to get.

Buy it in any order you would like.
Either way you will have more than enough time playing Savage until harder content arrives.
