I'm only around 19 I think, but I'm close to max on my tokens for PvP. Although it seems like I can't even use any of it for another 20+ ranks or so, is this true or am I missing something?

iLv 100 and iLv 110 gear had it's rank requirements removed recently. You can equip any gear up to iLv 110 regardless of Rank. The rank required is listed in the item's description.

Right, but it doesn't seem better than the ~170 PvE gear I have, could be wrong about that. Didn't think I'd buy the 110's when I could get the new stuff

new stuff requires a certain rank yes.
the level 100 and 110 stuff is for glamour now.

You gotta understand, that gear came out when the max iLv was 110 at the time lol. Of course the 170 will be better lol. SE removed the requirement for just like every other obsolete gear, glamours.

Nope You're not missing anything. The grind to be able to equip the highest tier pvp gear (from rank 1-50) is pretty much the same amount of grind it takes to fate grind a class from 1-50 lol. Only with the pvp grind, you don't get much in between besides the lower level glamour.

It's probably a little better now that the daily frontlines roulette finally has a PvP exp reward, but yes that grind was HORRID. And even with the new daily PvP exp reward it'll still probably take longer to gain PvP rank than it would take to normally level via FATE grinding simply because no one PvPs and queues can take forever and you can always find FATEs.
