    Intermittent Lag... STILL

i don't know why this is still an on-going issue. Square Enix, please fix your stuffs.

i don't experience lag with any of of the following...

in any one of the dozen MMO's installed on the PC.

with any of the Borderlands titles during multi-player on either the PS3 or PS4.

in either Saints Row 2 or 3 on the PS3 during multi-player.

in GTA IV during multi-player on the PS3.

while playing PlanetSide 2 on the PS4.

in a handful of other games on either the PS3 and PS4.

i have switched to a new service provider. i moved to a different house. i have paid professionals a good amount of money to make sure everything is 100%.

all-in-all, this is getting outright ridiculous. i am sick of people telling me it is something on my end when it is very clearly something on Squre Enix's end.

i am living in Hamilton, Ohio. my previous ISP was Time Warner and my new one is Cincinnati Bell Fioptics. i have been trying to figure this issue out for like literally ever since early access of 2.0. changing ISP's did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. all-in-all, i am tired of shelling out money to a service provider to fix an issue that is well beyond their control.

Same here I feel your pain I play 14 on PS4 and it happens randomly. I have TWC and I even had techs come out today and look at my lines and change a few things around.

i don't know what that is, and only play this game on the PS4. the issue was the same on the PS3 too, when i played it there before upgrading.

the support person CinciBell sent out to my house did all the testing. they spent about 2hours doing everything.

i have shelled out around $600 since early access of 2.0 trying to get this crap resolved. between Time Warner and Cincinnati Bell it is always the same result... the issue never gets resolved. as far as i am concerned, this isn't an ISP related issue. Square Enix just needs to fix their shit.

They probably tested more for local issues than upstream. We are frequently seeing the problems in play around the exchange points into who the ISP assigns for the peering/transit to Ormuco in Montreal.

Need to get a more proper analysis of the specific connection to the servers...at least a tracert so someone has a roadmap to follow. Blizzard has a nice how-to for testing to their servers. Can apply the same guide, only using the addresses for this game. Here are the registered names for the lobby servers in Canada:

    neolobby02.ffxiv.com
    neolobby04.ffxiv.com
    neolobby06.ffxiv.com
(for the Japan lobby servers, use numbers 01, 03, and 05 in the names)

The guide details how to create a log file of the trace in the root of your C:\ drive. You should save a copy of it to another location, and then run another report to some other services--like maybe a Blizzard server or the server for another on-line game that plays well, and perhaps another for another service that may be behaving well (youtube, netflix, hulu, etc.--even google would help). Make these reports available to your ISP for review--be that a copy/paste into an email or forum post, or direct attachment.

The goal is to help narrow down where the problem is occurring. They may show things consistently bad at one particular gateway on their network--or it may be fine all the way out to the perimeter of their network, but then it goes sour at one particular exchange point...like the one you use to get to Ormuco in Montreal specifically for this game. Then they know where they need to look---and it likely is not something in your neighborhood.
