Frontlines Queue

Does anyone know how they exactly work? they just don't make sense. A friend and I queued at same time but not in party and I got queue pop up while he didn't (since we were queueing separatedly, that wasn't shocking), but when I got out of my match and he was still queued, I got another queue pop while he didn't. Then same thing happened a third time while he was 1h+ queue time and I kept getting pops as soon as I left a match or less than 5 mins. Doesn't make sense at all. Anyone could explain?

Different grand companies? The game will pair up 24 people from each GC to start a game. If he's in a big GC, he's gonna be in queue limbo for quite a bit.

Sorry forgot to specify it. We're in the same GC/data center.

He got trapped in que hell. The system is broken. Best you can do is make sure click in progress and one language only. If it goes over the 30 min reset it. It isn't quite like a dungeon where you slide to the bottom of the list. Also if you guys are on a chat program and it pops and you are full spam reque. That is why you will see some people say pop and a number in a PvP linkshell.

What are your ranks? This has happened to me and a friend before and I suspect they try to rank match in the queues (which causes some people to get absolutely horrible queues). I got into two matches before his queue popped for the first time. Did your friend's queue ever pop or not?

Mine is 20 on this character and his is... 40 I think. But afaik only Wolves Den queues are affected by rank, not frontlines. And yes, after 1 hour and me entering 3 matches after, it started popping for him and we were in the same matches.

I'm skeptical. I think there is rank matching for Frontlines which on top of GC restrictions really jacks up the queue. Not sure what other explanation exists for lopsided queues.
