The expansion has been out of about a month plus ...
You got several new zones, new Job abilities and the next chapter of the MSQ line.
No please, just don't.I can even say Heavensward added more content to this game than I saw on most X.0 versions of WoW. The new maps are HUGE, the storyline is just as long as the ARR one...

Yah srsly. Done it all before in 2.0, can't be arsed to do it again *shrug*.
Is what it is I suppose, everyone gets bored eventually. Going to hang around for 3.1 but unless it's great I'll probably disappear after that.
No hard feelings, I had a great time. Would recommend FFXIV to my friends.

Seriously, what are you expecting?
You can say that about just any game. After 1 hour of GTA V ... I have done it before.

I was expecting that initial spark to be reignited. It was while I was leveling and working through the story. Tomestone grinding put it out again though.
This is probably the wrong thread for me anyway, I'm not really critical of 3.0.
I'm bored, it happens with every game eventually. I put something like 250 hours into a game called Warframe then got bored, they've released new maps, new characters, new weapons, revamped melee, added factions, jetpacks and space combat, just a whole bunch of stuff since I got bored and left. I've tried going back a few times but I just can't get back into it. No ones fault, just the way it is.
I'm not going anywhere just yet anyway, planning to hang around doing bits here and there till 3.1ish.
What this game needs is more ways to obtain the currency needed to obtain a armour. Right now we have dungeons/raids which can be boring after few runs (I can not blame some players for wanting to rush it), Hunts which is slow and you need to wait alot of time for them to spawn and PvP which takes ages to enter, because of the GC restriction.
Add new ways where players are not doing the same routine, which does not have a long queue that takes ages and which does not rely on a mob to spawn. I think Yoshi-P and the other developers need to take a break from WoW and maybe try out different mmorpgs, like ESO and GW2. Both games might not be perfect, but they nailed exploration and things to do well.
I understand that in Japan the PS3 is still used more then the PS4, but if the PS3 is indeed holding back this game, then I wish they would either give PS3 players their own version and server or end it. I dont want this to be a game where, we think 'what if' had happend. Almost all of my LS/FC members bought a PS4, my little brother has also upgraded his PS3 to a PS4 aswell few months ago. Maybe 3.0 should be the last PS3 expansion.
But this will never happen, aslong as majority of the Japanese players are on the PS3.

Can't be helped really. Players will always consume content faster than developers can create it.
This is partly why I have advocated having sandbox elements in MMOs.
In sandboxes, the playground doesn't change to entertain. Playing with others is where the fun comes from - gameplay ideally suited to MMOs.
With sandboxes, players write the story.

I think it's why I always go back to Eve online eventually. It's slow, tedious, grindy, full of assholes, but I make my own story (and I don't end up grinding the same few dungeons for gearCan't be helped really. Players will always consume content faster than developers can create it.

Only one thing I'd like to add here. I paid 30 bucks for the "game" and have to pay close to 50 for the expansion. If I pay 30 for 16 gigs of content seems legit. Then after pay 50 for 3/4 gigs o.o idk seems disproportionate to me but whatever.
OK. What kind of quest would you like to see?Not sure if its been mentioned yet in the 8 pages (probably has) but the complaints I have read have more to do with the fact they didnt really address anything from the original. Particularly the overabundance of boring repetitive fetch quests. Honestly the only improvement ive seen with HW is that the storyline better. Or rather, more consistently entertaining. They added flight, but other than that not much has changed, improved, or been fixed.
Do you find it too simple? Or is the lack of player agency the problem?
