    Problems updating FFXIV

    Well other problems too. My laptop's power supply died so I tried to install on two older machines.

    Machine 1, Acer laptop, AMD phenom II x4, AMD radeon HD 6650m, Win 7

    11021 Unable to access server for version check. Please check your DNS server settings.
    3:20455,10009,10020
    But its online no problem. I don't understand

    Machine 2, Older tower, Athlon 64 x2, AMD 6670, XP (I don't know if the CPU can handle XIV)

    Same message. Different one earlier which I didn't save. Also online.

    Any ideas?

    Sounds like a driver issue, are both of those machines up to date?

    The Acer I I am almost positive is is. The tower was off forever. It lost its file structure in a crash, I have been updating it, it has one unknown under other devices but I don't think that's an issue.

    I will check vid drivers again, Problem is that the 66xxs are pretty old. Any others I should check?

    The AMD Driver Autodetect Tool Does not recognize the tower's XP OS.

    Windows thinks the Acer's vid drivers are up to date.
