    Name Changes, Advance Classes & Armory System

    Name Changes

    personally i like the classic final fantasy names like warrior, monk, white mage, etc... but i like to see more of a generic basic names similar to the final fantasy tactic series. with basic class names i like to see:

    Gladiator = Soldier
    Marauder = Fighter
    Pugilist = Brawler
    Lancer = Lancer (i think this name is fine for a basic case class)
    Archer + Archer (this is also fine for basic base class)

    i like to see the the classic names used more like advance jobs. even though magic classes is hard to give basic names, since white mage and black mage was always considered basic jobs in most of the final fantasy series. but like how Chemist in FF tactic evolved into white and black mage i am fine with some other basic name. which will let the classic names like white / black / red mages to be used as an advance class in FF14. this can also leave room for for higher form of specialized class, but i will touch up on that in the Advance Class section.

    Advance Classes

    but i like to see more of a FF Tactics type of system... where you need like a rank 20 white mage + 30 Soldier to unlock a similar FF11 quest line to unlock Knight (tier2 class). which will make you feel like "i built my character" vs FF11 all you need to do is level up any job to 30 then do any of the advance job quest lines and you have access to all advance jobs. knight as a tier2 class could evolve into a choice of a more specialized 3rd tier class like crystal knight / paladin. a system like this you might need soldier + black mage (both tier1 classes) = quest line to unlock dark knight (tier2) which can evolve to blood knight (tier3). people like to see classic names but to me i rather see them used properly as advance class. this way your working up the ranks like your getting promoted into a better job.

    Armory System

    personally i think either all classes should have a 2-handed weapon, 1-handed weapon and access to sub classes like shields/dual wield or break the the weapons away from classes so classes have a more variety of choice to choose from. maybe i want to use a 2-handed boardsword as a paladin or maybe as a dark knight. it isnt that i just want to be able to mix & match skills but maybe i want to be able to mix & match weapons with other classes. sure artifact (tier) gear can favor 1 or 2 weapon to a class but non-artifact can be used more loosely among the classes.

    MMOs are a time sink, player put their time and effort into a game, while companies want to keep their players happy that are willing to pay to play the game for as long as possible. sure some people want things easily handed to them, but i rather have the game that takes more time, thought & effort to play to say i achieved this or that. this way if i tell someone i am a 50 Paladin, people will know i put effort into playing while i can still claim a classic name.

    bump up

    i would like to hear some comments not just on my post but on your own ideas of what you like to see. but like i said i rather have things a bit more difficult to achieve so when achieved not only do you know how much work you put in but others as well.
