First impressions

New player to ff certainly not to mmo's in general. 5/6 days In lvl 40/15 dragoon.

After the first 5 quests I haven't read a single piece dialogue since except for the grand company speeches which were pretty cool. That's not necessarily a bad thing its just that I'd rather poke my eyes out than read quest grind crap about how he stubbed his toe and I need to speak to 14 different people to get a bandaid.. Well you get the idea. Graphics,game mechanics,sound all remind me of tera but better in many ways.

Very little to buy in the mog station. I usually spend a ton of money on stuff like that.

Bosses are challenging, gameplay rewarding when your good. Drop rates good.starting gear could use an overhaul took until kvl 25 to get anything flashy .

UI is real good but could really use an arrow on some of these quests good lord it was frustrating. That's it for now at work - will talk more later.

You may want to start looking into glass eyes, while you still have yours.

No open word PvP bites &%£ Originally this game didn't have PvP, it was added as kind of a cruel way to tease us pvp players and its near impossible to do it enough to actually enjoy it.

Very little to buy in the mog station. I usually spend a ton of money on stuff like that. this.... the crap in the mog station was added awhile ago and most don't like the idea of having a cash shop on top of a sub lol. just add it to the game

Some of the story quests are pretty good, aside from the usual kill and gather.

I know a few story lines where I just snap my pens in half. After Heavensward, I need more pens...

You should read the quest-dialogues, at least the main story one. For an MMO the quests are unusually well written and most of them are quite enjoyable. You'll be missing out on a huge part of the game if you just skip them.

Ya my issue was that I came from a very PvP centric mmo gaming style the likes of ncsoft games in the past. Basically get the highest level and best gear at all costs as quickly as possible. The ff story was good cinematics are too notch too although couldn't watch most of the videos from people pushing through the instance. Just finished my 50 and looking to gear up from poetics grind. Sad to say I had enough for my weapon from 3hrs worth of titan hm. I would have thought things would be harder but seems more WoW'ish. Lineage 2, as an example, high 70's level grind was 1% for 6hours of mob killing. So ff is kind of a joke ATM.

Don't get me wrong though I'm buying the game and expansion for 3 other people so I do enjoy the relaxed play style. 2 thumbs up.

You are referencing 2 year old content. It's meant to be easy now so you can actually gear up and play the level 60 content, which has more of a challenge and edge to it than you grouping in Titan HM (which can be duo'd by two level 60's at this point). I would say, you haven't reached the point where you can make an assessment upon the difficulty of the game accurately. Wait until you get to Savage Alexander and see what you think.

I'm fairly certain there's plenty of free-to-play MMOs where you can spend oodles on the cash shop and have open world PVP. It's just not the route they went for this game.
