This should help with BoD and Geirskogul.
3.0 Beginners Dragoon Rotation.
Unfortunately play with a Ps4 controller so.. I need a better way to lay out crosshair macros for Dragoon so I can keep track of important timers.

A dummy and boss are entirely different beasts, however. 3 GKs a minute doesn't translate well to A1, 3, or 4 most of the time. You usually have to be very aware of upcoming phase transitions to judge whether or not to GK or reapply BotD, but there's still stuff(like quarantine or ferrofluid) that you can't account for. This should help with BoD and Geirskogul.

Yeah... Similarly, if you have to move at all on black mage during astral fire, you're probably have to modify your rotation some on the go. It's the same with other jobs too, though. Sometimes I'll have to cast huton instead of armor crush for various reasons. Sometimes I won't be able to fit the entire opener on a boss before he goes invulnerable. Obviously you can't play at dummy rotation optimal 100% of the time, but you absolutely can learn to adapt and optimize your damage output for the situation. Or maybe I'm just bad, idk. <insert Yoshida git gud images here>A dummy and boss are entirely different beasts, however. 3 GKs a minute doesn't translate well to A1, 3, or 4 most of the time. Yeah.... My rotations were not near perfect prior to 3.0, and I dread what my hot bar will be like once I finally get Dragoon to cap again. But at least it's given me some idea of where to begin. I agree that no rotation is perfect because every situation is different (skill too). Having some idea of where to start, dummy practice and then learning through experience on when to stop and change rotation patterns. Is a bit more important than just trying to maintain a single perfect rotation set. Knowing how to properly optimize rotations and CD on the fly is probably the only real hard thing to learn/do. Even though that can apply to almost any job.A dummy and boss are entirely different beasts, however. 3 GKs a minute doesn't translate well to A1, 3, or 4 most of the time. As for GK's, I'm going use that as a baseline to redo my hot bar and get used to managing all that new stuff when I finally get back to the level cap. I'll just have to keep an eye out for other ways of using it aside from trial and error during content.
BTW, you wouldn't happen to know if Battle Litany is shared with Internal release by chance?

I have 31 hotkeys right now, would be 33 if I had all the cross-class skills I'm supposed to.As for GK's, I'm going use that as a baseline to redo my hot bar and get used to managing all that new stuff when I finally get back to the level cap. Litany and release have separate cooldowns and, as far as I'm aware, stack. The opener uses them in the span of 2 GCDs.
