Why does BLM armor need to look bad? Like a homeless person/ jester/joker

AF1, Soldiery, several sets from lower tier dungeons and now AF2.

Why do so many sets look like Jesters?

Did the person who created the BLM AF2 just give up? The gloves, boots, and pants look like level 5 armor.

Why can't BLM receive nice looking armor? This isn't FF9 anymore, we aren't Vivi, we don't have to look terrible.

Thats an opinion, just like mine.

The point is, we don't have to wear tattered clothing just because it was used in previous games. This is an entirely new game.

Then glam it. No one's saying you have to wear something you think looks bad. Personally I don't like the look on my character either but it's easy enough to build something else over it.

I dont mind the AF sets, but I will definitely admit I am sick to DEATH of ROBES.
To be honest, I have nothing against robes, but they always looks so bland. If the robes looked more akin to say Y'Shtola's new set I might consider sticking with it.
I posted some pics on a thread a few months ago that was bitching about robes. The designs I posted were robes, but they had very intricate designs and generally had a bad-ass feel to them. Mage robes in XIV are far too lack-luster for my opinion.

Personally do not like that sort of theme - though I suppose I'd feel better if it wasn't attempted to be sold as 'armor' and made more for glamour as someone else mentioned. Even with glamour I'd be disappointed if it reached to the point of what is popularly seen in a number of Korean* MMORPGs (not exclusive or always present, but seems to a common enough to become a stereotype).

*Can't remember what WoW looks like after being spoiled for so long but I imagine they mix in some things like you posted, just really terrible quality lol.

It's perfectly okay to not agree with designs other players like. But I am sure we can all agree some variation on the standard "robe" type armor would be a welcome addition. Even if it is glamour only.

Enough of making BLM look like laughable circus clowns, its almost embarassing.

Idc if its af or glamour (thats totally irrelevant) just please add some gear like the examples.

The more fantasy style trumps 99% of what we have now..the "choice" should at least exist.
