I have spent a lot of time looking at both the crafting and gathering red scripts over the passed few days. The gathers have it the worst, hours of running in circles to get 2 or 3 of the 20 items needed for 1 crafting item. The last beast tribe in 2.0 was boring but do able to get crafting mats. Placing the mats for the i110 DoW/DoM gear in coil was a slick move in my opinion. I was hoping they would continue that in 3.0. At this time I see little point in crafting. On the flip side this system is so bad in my opinion it has given me motivation to unplug from the game and go back to something more productive and fun, killing zombies in Black Ops. Way to kill crafting SE.

Personally... I really like it. I like that we get ''AF2'' for them as well as the fact it costs me 0 gil to obtain.

That's funny, here I thought it took over 1 million Gil for the lowest cost red scrip gear. Unless you tell me you're going to farm all the mats to cap your red scrips? That is possible right? I mean if you play 10 hours a day and do nothing but gather then it's certainly possible. Otherwise, not a chance.

None of the gear is free. You either have to sell your soul and become a gathering drone for endless hours or spend lots of Gil.

Well, anyway, see you at Christmas 2016 after you've spent 100 million Gil and finally got all your weak red scrip gear.

I farmed my job to 60 for free.... in fact it paid me a lot of gil between leves and quests.

My retainer and I combined gathered all mats needed to make my lvl 60 gear (I have 1 lvl 60 retainer)... I had a couple of dear FC mates craft my lvl 60 gathering gear and tools... the only thing I didn't have was HQ Adamanite nuggets but i got a few from a Dragonskin map so that saved me from buying them on the MB.

I already had 5 perception III materias and a CP+3 materia so I asked them nicely to meld them on for me.

This gives me the perfect stats for red scrip items. I capped my red scrip farm on botanist only. you need 450/8 = 57 items. I get 2-4 items a node so at the very most I need to visit the Cysahl node 28 times in an entire week of play to cap.

^^;;;; I am the type of person who is happy to wait for the things I need (Gathering it all myself)

To be honest, I thought you meant crafting scrips which are as my post states.

Though please do give favor nodes a go. Try and see if you can keep your sanity after 11 hours of hardcore gathering that relies 100% on RNG.

Anyway, the system is utter garbage - that's absolutely the community's stance, so let's hope for some changes real soon.

Ah, when you mentioned Gatherer I just ran with it.
Personally I think the crafter red scrip system is too harsh, which is why I am not participating.

Actually I have not been a 'crafter' since Lucis because I think its very monotonous and offers no reward because all the nice things to craft at the very top end require materials that are often obtained through RNG only.

The problem with crafting is that progression is effectively dead until changes are made to this new system, but beyond that there's the fact that we have nothing to craft anyway. 3.05 gave us 2 new housing items and various gear sets, including outdated i180 gear which uses the exact same model as the i160 version.

glamour items are now and always have been my money maker. Just like in the real world people will pay good money for rare pretty items.
