    New players and the grind to rank 50

    Pvp in this game was never a big thing for me as a matter of fact I never even touched it till after I hit lvl 60. I will admit the frontline is fun and I do enjoy it however the fact that i know that there is a giant rank wall in front of me before I can even spend all the marks I am gathering or at least wear what I can buy is honestly kind of a turn off

    now it would not be so bad if the Q times were not 30-45 min however they are take into account the length of the match and you could put it at about a hour for Q time + the game. now I have not seen anything for rank 1-50 however I looked and seen something for 1-40 was something along the lines of 300 frontline wins, 400 2nd place or like 500 losses. Again i have no clue on the accuracy of this as it was about a year old and things might of shifted and changed.

    but even at that you are looking at 300+ hours 80% of is just sitting in Q just to be able to really start wearing any of the gear and this is if you win every match.

    You only need PvP rank for the newest set of gear, you can buy and equip all of the other sets despite the tooltip saying otherwise. For example, the text saying that you need PvP rank 45 for the glowing weapons is wrong, and was left on the item by mistake.

    that is fine however that's all lower lvl gear, I feel I would be better off wearing my 190-200 ilvl gear over the 110 lvl 50 pvp gear. Why not toss in some lvl 60 gear thats like ilvl 150-160 that you only need rank 20 or so to wear. That would give the new people who are just stepping into pvp something to actually work for. Now keep in mind I am kind of throwing out Ilvls here as I said I do not know to much on the pvp gear system in terms of the Moral boosting it up so maybe I am completely wrong maybe the boosted ilvl 110 is better then my ilvl 180 set so feel free to fill me in / correct me if I am wrong

    No, your 110 set will function as 135 in pvp areas, so for level 60 PvP you're better off wearing something ilvl 150 or higher.

    And you're right. It's pretty universally agreed on that SE should have added in a starter level 60 PvP set, or increased the moral rating to 40 on the ilvl 110.

    You're better off wearing your ilvl 190-200 gear over the ilvl 180 pvp gear anyway because morale doesn't work in Frontlines :P

    In front lines the majority of bis gear includes very little pvp stuff.

    Yes, it takes a long time to level. The rank system is fine (should of kept i100 ranked as well). However it's the gc restrictions that hold back the q's.

    Yup. This used to be a thing back when the gear went i70,90,100,110 but now that there's only i180 pvp gear there's no treadmill for new players to climb ;_;

    p.s. I'm rank 48 if you're curious.

    You can't glamour or use that gear unless you have the ranks. The text didn't change on the gear. Go read it at the vendor. Thats why I stopped as well lol

    I hope you mean the new rank 46-50 stuff, because rank restrictions were definitely completely removed from the i100 and i110 gear. I've been using the full PLD i100 gear set as my glamour since the change went through, and I'm only rank 33. Just when I got close to finally being able to wear the armor I've been grinding for for months....... the restrictions vanish. Totally lost motivation to keep PvPing

    The PvP rank grind is one of the most tedious, motivation killing things I have ever done. And I'm not even done yet. I feel like if I'm doing anything but Frontlines, I'm wasting time that could be spent in Frontlines grinding that massive amount of Exp you need.

    I've literally been waking up in the morning, queuing up for Frontlines, then doing it over and over and over again all day. At this point I'm not even paying attention to my total Exp, because when I look at it, it reminds me that I still need over 150k more exp to get where I want to be, and I've been doing Frontlines after Frontlines day after day for a week and a half now. I don't expect instant reward on little work, but just the thought of how much I need to do just to get to rank 50 is overwhelming. (On the bright side I guess it's nice capping esoterics on the day of the reset)

    At this point, I try to not even think about the progress, because when I do, it starts to kill my drive. I just queue up for Frontlines, and force myself through it for hours, trying to get 10+ matches at the very least a day. Hell I HAVE to if I want to get where I'd like to be in anywhere around a month. On Primal however, I'm on Flames, and they don't do too well for the most part, so I've a feeling I'm going to be treading through this grind for much longer than a month. I'd try changing GC, but at Rank 27, I'd rather not start over from scratch.

    I'm already starting to pile up the new gear in my retainer just because I'm sitting on so many wolf marks idk what to do with them all. The marks are nice, the Exp bad, especially if you're commonly on the losing side. I'm forcing myself through it for the Behemoth King set, but I'm definitely not enjoying it. On the bright side however, even if it takes 3 months of nothing but Frontlines, once you get to the cap rank, you don't have to worry about doing it at all anymore unless you switch GC's. That or new ranks come out, which are much, much more tolerable to get through than all of 1 through 45.
