The job is very basic at the start and will get more complex as you go. Just remember to use ammo and shoot and go to the next ability if it procs. The current abilities you have are very straight forward and no you do not want to macro anything. lv.52 is when the job starts going way more into depth.

but what cross skills are MUST have ?

Blanket statement: All of them. You'll definitely want Raging Strikes, Hawks Eye and Blood for Blood minimum. After that Invigorate will help a ton because you'll blow through TP. After that its entirely dependent on what you need. Keen Flurry is good for soloing or when you are expecting to be getting hit (Like dolls in A4 or the adds in A1). Quelling Strikes will be good if you're starting your opener as the pull starts or the tank has issues with aggro.
Once you get Gauss Barrel take quelling or keen out for Feint.
I'd recommend for your cross class skills to take Raging Strike, Blood For Blood, Invigorate, Hawk's Eye, and Feint. I can sense the eyebrow raising to Feint, basically it's a 120 Potency weaponskill, so it gets the 30% bonus from Gauss Barrel, is still an insta-cast while you have Gauss Barrel on, and can be used at range.

I suspect feint will be nerfed eventually. It's to powerful on mobility fights for bard and machinist.probably give it a cast time while in minuet or gauss.
It probably won't, the reason being is that it's actually not that strong. Sure it's good if your only moving long enough to cover 1 to 2 GCD, but if it's more than that then your better off just taking GB off, as your procs are still stronger even without GB. Most likely the same with WM, otherwise you'd just seeing Brds spamming it all the time.
Feint in wanderers minuet (120+36 potency) is stronger than heavy shot out of wanderers minuet ( 150 potency ). The crunch is the heavy tp cost. 60 vs 80. Spaming it all the time would be dps suicide. It probably won't, the reason being is that it's actually not that strong. Why would they add a cast time to feint O_O ? I don't think they can mess with cross class abilities without effecting the main job it is for.
