PVP ~ Coliseum

With the talk of PVP around the corner soon, I was wandering what type of things people would like to see introduced. I personally would think that sweet to have a coliseum in each one of the cities. To have local battle amongst the locals of that city and then on the weekends it would pull you to a one of the three city for the final competitors to duel it out and see how would win it all. If you where the final one standing for your city you would win a in game money prize or some random peice of gear that can only be obtained through winning the tournament. Also for represtenting your city and winning, the city would decrease item cost from vendors, and vendors would buy you items for higher price then normal. Something along those lines so everyone would win. With companies around the corner, we could have companies duel it out or just teams of 4 or w/e. Also i would like to see stands or somewhere other pc's that are bored or just want to watch an intense duel can go and just chill, cheer on the fellow nation, or friend that might be participating.

If they did do coliseum's i hope they would make the area real time with moving parts and traps, along with weapons and potions you could by from vendor's before you went into battle. I.E. a mage could buy a potion that makes him float above the arena some he can focus on other spell, and a melee would have to quickly engage to a bow or some type of range to dispatch of his enemy. or I.E. for traps if they did add the job beast master you could by a bear trap or a metal cage that sounds his animal if he steped on it, traping the beast inside, making the beast master vurnable to attacks, until he could break out his animal. Also making the beast master have better control over his animal, to avoid the traps and still kill the enemy. These are just some ideas of thought would be cool but, if you guys have more ideas please add them on, i know there some more core elements of the game to be fixed first this is just some time in the future i would like to see implemented.

Yeah I am sure something similar to XI's Ballista will come into play o: wither party vs party or pc vs pc.
Chocobo racing pvp style would be pretty fun as well! And.. linkshell owned airship battles!! ok.. now I am just dreaming way too big xD

Airship battles is what this game needs! Small dreams, small subscriptions.

I'm questioning the priority on some of these things. Why PVP? Shouldn't we be focusing more on fixing the game itself to make it more enjoyable, rather than give it new avenues of possible error? This is like the size increase on mobs in my opinion: unnecessary at this point, when there are more urgent things to be looked at (such as streamlining mass synths).

Please read the first post, were not talking about doing this now, just an idea for the future it maybe a while off, but sometimes focusing on the negatives and what need to be fixed can be a drag, we just throw in some dreams that we would like to see come true every now and then.

I just recently saw the arena for the first time, was kind of disappointed by the fact that I had never had a reason or motivation to explore and look for it until then. I hope it will have some real use eventually, maybe even eventually a larger kind of coliseum as well in the future in Ishgard perhaps?

I like the idea of Coliseum you described, with different types...1on1, team vs team...with other mobs, traps, tournaments...and maybe some betting too would be fun to get in there on glad
That's kind of PVP i would definitely do.

Helllllll yes! Please oh please, give us some PVP sports!

The arena in XI was really unimpressive. It would be nice if people wandering around looking for things to do could go into the Ul'dah arena and watch random players or teams fight each other. Even more fun: Add a qiqirn bookie to take bets on which side will win. Players can make (or lose) some extra gil while they enjoy the sport!

@ Aveline & Zacko betting i think would make it awesome, just add more excitement to the arena as you cheer and watch now that you have a little on the line too ^^ right on guys. Aveline you made me think about Blitz Ball in FF10, that would be a bad ass sport to have in 14, but if they don't add that in, hopefully some other awesome sport that they think of will hopefully show up.

I would like this, theres the coliseum in Uldah and could add one in other cities.

Before the game came out and I read about the coliseum i was so excited expecting it to be like FFX battle arena, but god damn i was so let down haha. at least use it for PVP
