    Thank You For Bringing Back Weekly Caps

    Seriously. The people who can play the game while they're at work or are unemployed or don't sleep were going insanely elitist and it was becoming an issue. The weekly cap is such a necessity and I hadn't realized how big of one it was until 3.0.

    I finally got my ilvl up for Alexander 1 Normal and said "first time here" and I got a "Hello undergeared person whose weapon should be 5 ilvls up." For A1. Come on.

    I'm sure 3 months from now we'll be hearing people irritated at the caps and wanting to progress further, but it doesn't help the overall scheme of things. It creates an unfair atmosphere of people who are privileged enough to spend a lot more time in the game, and those who can't.

    Agreed. Although I think 450 is a bit low. I work pretty much a 9 to 5 job and I was able to cap pretty quick still, and was bored this weekend. All I had left to do was join failing ravana ex parties all weekend. I'd love to join a static but most of the statics are geared out in Alex gear with hive weapons already and only looking for people that are geared like them. Not to mention seeing most advertise 9pm to midnight. I got work in the morning screw that. If there was no cap then the majority would have ilvl 200+ already, complaining they got nothing to do at all, so yes thank you SE indeed.

    Don't feel upset for yourself when you come into contact with these people. These things matter to those kinds of players and they suffer from being unable to see how their priorities reflect on them as a person. Some suffer from the dunning-kruger effect where they have subconsciously chosen their time investment and gear as a measure of intellect. Usually accompanied with a smaller than average perspective in regard to others. They repeatedly fail to assess the root cause of their lack of enjoyment, which is the main obstacle that prevents them from approaching the game with a more relaxed temperament.

    At the end of the day you already had to pass an iLvl requirement to enter, which means it was designed to be doable with what you were carrying. That player is acting out in a similar vain to people who refuse to play alongside certain classes, regardless of the players quality or other reasons why their experiences might have been consistently poor in the past (themselves).

    The best you can respond to that with is something like: "Don't worry it's on the way "
    If he continues his passive-aggressive approach, it's really up to your party to judge who is in the wrong. Just stay all-smiles, avoid showing that you feel the need to attack or defend (that's not to say you can't but focus on complimenting yourself rather than insulting others). People tend to take the side of the one that hides an undertone of positivity in everything they say.

    Weekly caps hurt people with limited playtimes too. I don't know why people pretend it's a "punishment" for people who can play more.

    Your gear is more than sufficient for that encounter.

    After playing Heavensward for those days before Esoterics were added, I can tell you exactly why the cap was added...before it was, and Law was being used for everything, Expert roulette was a ghost town. I waited 20 minutes as a tank for an instance. 20 MINUTES for a brand spanking new endgame dungeon...AS A TANK. Nobody was running them because they already got their gear for their main and didn't need the Law anymore.

    That's why they have the cap, because if we could easily get everything we needed without a cap on Esoterics, people would already be fully geared out and the endgame would be completely dead, with nobody running anything because they already have the gear. The weekly cap limit is a blessing in disguise (though feels like a curse most of the time).

    I like weekly caps because I have limited playtime, and it's nice to be able to hit my cap and say "Ok, I am good for now." rather than worrying about being perpetually left behind.

    Maybe you did get SE wrong? ^^;
    At 2.0, there were 2 kinds of tomestones, Philo (i70) and Myth (i90), and Philo had no cap.
    Obviously, in 3.0, Law is new Philo and Eso is new Myth.

    With that being said, everything is working as intended, Law has no cap doesn't mean they removed the cap, it has no cap bcoz it is the new Philo which had no cap initially.
    IMO "removing weekly caps" was never happend, it was just adding Eso(= Myth i90 AF) with Alex-gear (= old i90 Coil gear) one month later than Law.
