Light party duty have 4 people. If the majority is fine with it, you can chose to be not a part of it, no ? You are not a special snowflake in a mmo.

Some suggestions:
-You can make a party finder group (Not to be confused with the duty finder)
This way, you can make a comment in it saying how you would like the party to run (eg. slow and steady, newcomers, exploring etc) and wait for the party to fill before you go in.
-You can try find a Free Company that is willing to help new players, is full or new/casual players.
You are on Balmung so you certainly have the population to try ^^
Good luck!
Yeah, I thought if I ever wanted to try RP'ing that was the right place to be. Thanks to everyone who offered helpful advise.
I'll say the same thing I do in every thread that involves people being upset about anything when they used the duty finder.
Your meeting up with random people who may or may not agree with your ideal of "Fun" get ready to compromise or your going to have a bad time. I seriously wish the duty finder would burn in a fire and make people actually need to socialize to play the game instead of being silent robots. What can you do though the majority of people seem to prefer the convience of the system more than they dispise the failing of it.
For the record I hate the concept of the duty finder.

The DF is designed with the premise that you only want to form the party asap, with no regards to the goals of that party, hence you take what you get and that is inherent to using the DF.
Whether a player accommodates others in the DF or is a show of character, which realistically cannot be controlled unless you use the Party Finder.
Note that this goes both ways. Those who want to speed run and those who want to take it slow. Neither are "right" in a DF.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
Not really, since the dungeons are designed to be mindlessly rushed for the most part. Once the players know how to use their basic abilities combat is on repeat for the rest of the game.
Speed Run and Slow Run options in DF. that's about all i ask for. and if you don't care which, then it's just regular DF with no option selected and the party can discuss what they want. I prefer taking my time through things and even dungeons I've done 100 times already. I just enjoy the game that way.

I can't even did Adlo + Deployment Tactic to tank while they keep rushing on boss![]()
There could be, but they'd rather us take the time to discuss how fast we want the pace of the dungeon to be on our own. Like that ever happens with the speedrunners.![]()

I used to try to argue that the DF was "watch/clear all the things" territory, but that's not really the case as I've learned. The DF is literally just there to get you into a dungeon as quickly as possible; after that, all bets are off.
As has already been said, your best bet in a DF is to be up front with where you stand and how you'd like to approach the content, and hope for the best. If the other 3-7 refuse, you can either leave and try again, or just put up with it. Making local server friends, joining a like-minded FC or LS, or setting up a Party Finder for like minded individuals are your only other options.
For what it's worth, I'm never in a rush, and whether I'm Tank, Healer, or DPS, I never push for people to skip cutscenes; however, the CS issue only really comes up in the Praetorium (and in CM to a lesser extent). I feel like they could revamp the story around these two duties to simply have the story in the cutscenes relegated to in-game dialog instead, but I'm unsure of the processes/time that would be required to pull that off.
