One place I can almost guarantee with certainty is there will be no changes to music. I would be absolutely stunned if they changed Nobuo Uematsu's visions.

I tend to listen to primarily Japanese music, but I just don't see this as fitting for the game at all. The version that we have is suited for the game. I love Hyadain and his renditions of music, but there's a place for everything, and when it comes to FFXIV, it's not Hyadain. :\
However, I find Susan Calloway to be very fitting for the game, despite being an English singer. Yet Leona Lewis didn't belong in FFXIII at all.
Just the audiophile in me speaking, though. I'm sure people have various preferences.

I found a video on the internet so I had to open a thread about it to let everyone know I have questionable taste in both music and game design.

Rudeness knows no boundaries...
I, for one, like this version. I love the nostalgic feel of it. The harmonies in the last verse, especially in the last 20 seconds, are incredible.
Not sure if it would fit in the game, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I agree, those last 20 seconds are just...goosebumps forever.
Thanks for sharing, Jennestia!

Better if a woman sung it.

Ah Nuts, you made me think of a song in FFVIII, Now I want to play it again... oww.. and I needed to finish something in FFXII.. Sigh...
**Goes off to dust of PS2**
edit: No its worse I now want to replay them all, stupid freaking you tube videos ... an I need a Ps3 now too... sigh.

I like the rendition, but I agree that it doesn't really fit FFXIV.
Also, Susan Calloway's performance on FFXIV's main theme was utterly jaw-dropping. There's no way I would ever want to replace Answers with anything else. ^-^
@ OP, that track is awful. You have zero taste in good music.

I'm american, I love jpop, and I love a lot of music sung in different languages, but I'm kinda of really interested in linguisitics to the point where it now effs with how I speak english. I hate FF lyrical pieces, I usually see it as ruining the piece almost immediately. It just America grew out of the early 2000s and I sometimes wish the rest of the world would too. To be fair jpop has definitely kept up with modernity in music and trends and even gone back in time when it was good and Americans weren't doing it, sometimes I feel like they have way better music than us, and it might stem from them not being half as dumb and feeding into anything on TV LOL. But seriously the people at FF have not given me a cool vocal song, I half liked Answers. But I half thought it was annoying. This is all opinion so w/e agree to disagree with those who like them. I've learned to like "tackily love" some songs out of their sheer badness, but I think thats a special gift that tacky modern cultures like the U.S and Japan have, to like crap with the dearest of hearts.
