How can I delete a mount or minion (if possible)?

I currently play three characters and I've been having fun dividing items, classes/jobs, and others things between them. Some of them share the same items, such as a certain mount or minion, but I want a mount (like the griffin) limited to one character for characterization reasons. How can I delete it from the other two, so only one can have it?

Once you have it listed in your mount or minion list, it's there forever. No way to remove it.

Just because you have it though doesn't mean you need to use it. I do similar things to what you're saying. For example, I only summon my griffin when playing as a gatherer or crafter, while as a battle class I only use midgardsormr.

The above, and also to expand on what they said, the griffin is an account wide item, as are any other collectors edition or early access items or item codes that come with physical things. You can't get rid of them on certain characters unless you just don't get them at all. But as was said, you do have control over what characters you choose to use them on.

I think they should glam the company Chocobo with other mounts so we can battle and use multiple mounts much easier. It's boring seeing everyone use the same mount all the time and it's neat to see what you guys are doing. Asides from that you should have options for no fly zones and flying locations. Finally I think Ishgard itself should have flying asides indoors. It would be awesome to show off the features like this in old content as well. If we could fly in Cities it'd be quit enjoyable.

If you decide in advance that you're not going to want a particular mount or minion for a particular character, you can just avoid adding that mount/minion to your mount or minion list. You get them initially as items, and then "use" the item to add them to your list. Before doing so, the item version can be deleted (or stored away on your retainer in case you change your mind later). That way Mount Roulette and Minion Roulette will never see them.

Once they're on your mount list or minion list, though, there's no way to delete them. All you can do then is avoid the roulette and choose your mount or minion specifically, avoiding the ones you don't want that character to use.

I've seen requests occasionally for a feature where we could set an option on each of our mounts or minions as to whether or not to include them in the corresponding roulette so that it would randomly choose between a few of our favorites rather than between everything we've unlocked. I'd like to see something like that added, but no luck yet on getting it.

A weird way to do the custom roulette: Set up a macro that tries to mount all of them with no delays between them, like

/mount "Company Chocobo"
/mount "Unicorn"

and so on. Then, hit the button just as you land from a jump. The game will try to execute every command in order, and if one succeeds because you are able to summon the mount, the rest will fail because you're busy casting the summon mount ability. Very clunky, but hey, it does work, sort of!

To have one button that mounts the mount I want to ride unless my choco is out, and mounts my choco if he's out, I have macros that do /mount <mount> followed immediately by /mount "Company Chocobo" and I have a different one on most classes. For the ones where I DO want to ride my company chocobo, I do the same thing, but with the chocobo first. That way, if my chocobo is stabled, I can still mount up with that button.
