The weapon upgrade is better then ANY other upgrade in the entire game.

I would wear i150 gear and take the best ilvl weapon over having EVERYTHING ELSE.

Are you a dps doing Alex Savage? If you sayd yes, then absolutely go and buy the wep.

Are you a tank/heal doing Alex Savage? You might wanna think about it depending on the stats, although I'd rather take armor as a tank.

Are you not doing Alex Savage, but planning on doing the relic chain? Don't take the weapon, but spend it on armor instead.

With both Esoteric tomestones and Alex Savage coming out a month after Heavensward release, I'm gonna go ahead and predict that we won't see 3.1 for another 3 months still at the earliest. It was 4 months between the patches in 2.X.

If it's 3+ months to 3.1, you will pretty much have full Esoteric gear anyways, even with getting the weapon...

For healing, the weapon will increase your healing by more than any piece by a significant amount.

For tanks, well Savage has pretty strict dps checks and you've got to contribute as well.
Though hate is not generally a huge issue, you don't want to be too behind your dps. As my static's leader, I'll give dps priority on the weapon upgrading which is its own gap.

Though armor does give more mitigation and that's usually priority as a tank, it's just not a worthy trade.
Nothing in the game is as powerful a stat jump as weapon damage.

If you're raiding, you get the weapon first for all the roles.
I can see waiting it out for the relic if you're not though.

This^^ go for the wep first like Ulathskullsplitter says the next big update won't be till at least Nov maybe Oct the only real update we are getting soon is the summer event i believe so wep seems about right

Last major patch was in June even though it was the expac release it was still a major patch. Three months from June is September not October or November. So it be September if they follow how they were going.

If you've ever played Soul Caliber, it's pretty much the Soul Edge that Nightmare uses.

This is when it helps to read the thread. A previous poster already explained that Yoshi-P said they were taking a break since they just released the expansion AND Alex normal and Savage in such a short time.

Will be longer than the usual 3 months. At least 4 if not 5.
