The Flight of the Garlean Fleet

After the fall of Ala Mhigo, Gaius tried to take Mor Dhona as a staging point to conquer the rest of Eorzea. However....that implies they flew over the Black Shroud to get there. Shouldn't that have triggered the Elementals' greenwrath on them, or is woodsin(?) limited by altitude?

Well, considering that the Gelmorrans had to dwell underneath the Black Shroud because the elementals refused them to live in the forest on the surface, it's highly likely the limit of the 'greenwrath' does not encompass everythign above and below the forest, just everything on the surface within it - naturally if the Garlean fleet flew through the forest instead of over it, it would have been a different story, but from several thousand fulms above the treetops, it's natural the elementals didn't bat an eyelid when Gaius and the Agrius cruised above with their date with Midgardsormr and the Dravanian Horde.

Of course the Garleans later did storm the Black Shroud, raiding Moonspore Grove in an act of genocide against the sylphs (which ultimately just pushed them over the edge into summoning Ramuh and causing the sylvan schism) and then establishing Castrum Oriens in the East Shroud, but that's another story...

Yet somehow they didn't contract woodsin. The Elementals just thought those soldiers and their magitek walker that we were sneaking past were on a peaceful afternoon stroll through their Twelveswood, I guess, lol.

Why didn't that happen? I can understand that not happening now because Bahamut pummeled them into submission, but that was before Dalamud fell wasn't it?

As far as I know they only attack once provoked; meaning if you burn/ cut down parts of their forest they'll awaken and kill everything in sight. If the Garleans flew above the forest then the forest was not bothered.

Wasn't sylphs and some Ala Mhigan freedom fighters were luring some Garleans deep into the woods to hopefully activate an Elemental's Wrath?
