Can something be done about light farming?

Try FATEs as other people already said.

20 fates per mahatma, 240 for the weapon. With the amount of EXP they give you should be done by 53 or 54 x.x

About the 500 light to Nexus... meh, they were a pain at 2k and 1k, they're now worse at 500. Grind it out, 500 fates isnt too much (my achievement says i've done 7400 so far) - just get a group and fly/run around brainless in a zone and wear it while doing high/leveling roulette - thats about all you can do. Lightfarm is dead and even on bonus the entry/run time negates it most of the time :/

Why should someone who never earned a Zeta get a replica of it? They've nerfed the questline enough at this point that getting it isn't even that horrible.

Ever did a Zeta after the nerf?

You might only need 740 light on the paper now, but its way worse then what it was before - no garuda/shiva/ifrit farming - ST/WoD that now gives 64 points on bonus (if measured after the system when nexus was released) youll stand no chance - hell will freeze over before you will get a smooth run of those.

Fates now give 4 lights, so 500 of those for nexus and 240 for the mahatma is probably the best you will get while leveling plus the light you get from daily high/leveling/trial roulette

I definitely get that it's grindy. It was grindy before.

My point was that those of us that earned our Zetas when they were current EARNED them. Even if, at level 60, a Zeta is little more than a glamour piece, it was still a long slog and a hard road we had to traverse over the course of years to obtain. I don't object to SE nerfing the requirements for getting a Zeta post-HW, that just makes logical sense. But I also don't see a good reason to give people that glamour option who never earned the weapon in the first place. If they want to go do the work to earn the weapon and have that for glamour, they'll go do it.

Furthermore.. Heavensward has been out for a little over a month at this point. People are seriously complaining that they couldn't do in 4 weeks what it took most of us almost 2 years to accomplish. That's not a reasonable comparison.
