    I wish they'd REMEMBER a few things. Like how people *despised* the garbage loot chests way back when and it got so bad they actually changed it so gear made for guaranteed drops in Halatali HM and the like. And now that the loot tables are *enormous* in Heavensward dungeons due to having more classes and having full armor AND accessory sets we have side chests which give us grade 2 clear prisms. They CAN give more gear in theory but almost never do in my experiences.

    Anyway, I see some improvements like the Normal/Story version of Alexander along with the uncapped Law Tomestones for easy gearing of alts. They upped the rewards of daily hunt marks, making them a viable option for people to get exp/seals/gil.

    But then there are other areas where I'm left scratching my head, like the complete fiasco they've made of crafting/gathering where it's such a worthless grind now.

    Sometimes it's like two steps foward, one step back, where they excel in one area, they completely miss the mark in another.

    gear drops a lot more in heavensward dungeons though , usually around 8 per run

    And they did learn , some things are a lot better, but then there are strange decisions that just seem bad and really make no sense, like having to return to ishgard for all leves.
    So it's strange how they improve some things and do some things so well then mess up other things that seem obvious

    They have always been this way, and finally more and more people are starting to learn. They nail the hard stuff, and mess up all the easy no-brainer stuff. It's like they have to put their own spin on everything they do to try and be unique and no one(except the "can't be disappointed ever" fanboys) wants it this way.

    idk I think it's a bit of a scumbag move to release an eso weap and then release relic in 3.1.

    Any raider is gonna buy that eso weap 1st. probably 1 month after they have it, relic released.

    They are learning very slowly, but they are also trying the players to see where our limit is.
    We are their test subjects
    "okay we have had caps for gear for a long time, lets see if they work for crafting/gathering too"
    "lets see if we can squeeze some extra money, lets make a cash shop"
    "maybe if we dont upgrade inventory system, people will pay us more for retainers"
    "let's just ignore the beta stage of chocobos, people will still sub even if they cant queue with chocobos"

    Some things are better, others are worse.

    Crafting and Gathering has been getting progressively worse and worse since 2.1, Heavensward took a nosedive.

    The complains were about garbage loot (mats) in boss chests instead of gear loot (now the boss chests in high level dungeons give you both mats and gear). There were no complains about side chest loots.

    So yes, so long you find no prism in a boss chest SE have learned.

    As I've stated elsewhere: Great expansion leveling experience if someone wants to run the classic bruiser MMO jobs of tank, healer, and dps. End game is about as abysmal as usual and they've got problems stacking on problems for the crafting, housing, and market board. The only reason gatherers don't have any issues is because their job is to go hit nodes all day.

    What I find perplexing is that they had Gold Saucer come out along with the manderville quest chain, and have a plethora of HM dungeons from 2.0 that could easily still give variety to those who completed the Main Story in Heavensward. But they haven't bothered to update any of them before launch to incorporate heavensward. Also, I'm still bugged about how they made it so that "well if we kill a primal the beastman will just summon an even more uber powerful one, so we got to kill that one as well or the world is in trouble." I'd rather have challenge mode stuff like that not be integrated into canon story fluff. Mostly because we seem to be playing the only characters able to deal with those threats, so if we don't deal with them I guess we can consider the entire rest of the story non-canon as the uber primal kills everyone and we can go home.

    Seriously, I want the spoony bard shinanigans of the Ultima weapon ballad, where we have to survive the bards crazy exaggerated version of our adventure to kill the primal. That works out great!
