I say we keep the cap but make Eostrics gear cheaper. Like about the same price as law gear. That will keep people subbing. In fact people will probably sub longer since we can gear more classes which would encourage us to level more classes.

I'd rather them have a cap FCs would have cleared Savage much easier then with the gear we have now, it limits progression to an extent meaning we're all not running around in ilvl200. Do I want the Drk gear? HELL YES I WANT IT OMG. Can I wait? Absolutely. I'm lvling alts, PvP, getting my eso cap (which usually takes me 3 days of casually doing it. It's fine the way it is i'm glad they didn't change it to have no cap or it'd unbalance the population.
And considering there was significantly lesser things to do back then. There was only the first coil raid. No beastman dailes. No crystal tower. Not even hard mode dungeons until later on. There was literally only wandering palace and amdapor keep. Life is so much better in Eorzea now. Most of us are just used to it because it's always been this way.
For me I had to deal with this since Mythology tomes (which don't even exist right now), so I am definitely used to it myself.
Some people in the legacy servers have been dealing with this since before Mythology tomes existed and Philosophy tomes were the only ones and they actually had a cap too.
And trust me when I tell you people were complaining, even back then.
And by the way, the cap used to be as low as just 300 per week. So waiting 3 weeks for just 1 single item (looking at you, Esoteric weapon!) isn't anything new to us.

I'm sure that this has been said before, but AF2 isn't intended to be used as your primary source of gear. To borrow terminology from latter-stage vanilla WoW, Esoteric items are "welfare epics". They are the gear equivalent of the echo, there to drag players through content they weren't able to approach the normal way, long after the content has grown stale to cutting-edge raiders.
Every new tomestone should be capped. There are absolutely people who would do nothing but grind dungeons for 16+ hours a day after new gear was introduced and then try to exclude others from running dungeons with them.
Act yes ppl will do runs 24hours there are some that try to pull 70 hours trust me if ppl can just do runs all day they will. And then you will get to many topics of players crying they need more to do and then they just un sub. So i say let the ppl quit can't deal with the cap? i mean 450 a week is fine
It needs to be completely removed, if there is nothing left to do without the cap, then end-game is terribly designed.
There is Neverreap and FC dungeons that people already have done a hundred times.
There is the dead PVP.
There is Alex Normal which has already been cleared by many people within the first week
There is Alex Savage which is currently being barred by cap to prevent the same thing that happened to Alex Normal.
Cap is just a smokescreen to cover up this pretty disappointing late-game.

I really wish they'd just fully embrace the AF aspect and apply it to the accessories, then just make the weekly cap a per Job kinda thing. Effectively giving us 12 versions of the tomestones, each with its own 450 weekly cap.
I'd quite like to get a few sets of these. I get why the cap is in place and fully agree with it, but at the end of the day I still want to gear up multiple Jobs. What's wrong with that? If my Ninja has 450 tomestones worth of Ninja gear a week, and my Summoner does as well, how does that impact raid content? I cannot physically bring both Jobs to the raid, it simply means I put double the effort in (farming 900 tomestones instead of 450) to be a bit more adaptable with what I can play, that doesn't really impact the actual content though.
Right now you effectively have to farm for one Job over the months, before you can start gearing the next. That really takes the joy out of this games Job system IMO. If I want to grind a ridiculous total of 5,850 tomestones a week to put every Job in its pretty AF, why not let me? I capped Esoterics on Tuesday, without even trying, while enjoying Seal Rock. I'm not bored or anything as a result, but it does bother how damn long it is going to take to even begin working on a second Jobs Esoterics... Would have been much more enjoyable if I had capped my Ninja Esoterics on Tuesday, then went "You know what, I want that Summoner AF as well..." and switched to Summoner to grind out some Summoner Esoterics.
I personally wouldn't mind the cap so much if the cap "stacked".
example: week 1 you got say 300/450, then week 2 your cap for that week would be 550, say you caped that 2nd week 550/550, well now week 3 is back to 450 so on so forth.
This way I take a week off and not have it effect my ability to gear! I'd also love a separate cap per job but that's just dreaming lol.
if pvp was revamped a lot and there were a pvp/pve cap it would bring a huge calling to pvp.
- remove ranks.
- remove gc requirement.
- rebalance classes a bit. (lot)
You can earn 450 a week from pve, and another 450 from pvp. =)
