Looking to level my gatherers up. Which ones are best to start with?

Hi all, I got the Ironworks rod when it was the best rod out there and had caught all legendary fish and what not. I haven't fished much since then and not in Heavensward. Now that I have more time on my hands, I'm planning to do some more fishing.

My question is, what do you gain at high end points of fishing? Before, we could desynth into glamour items and pets. What about right now? Is there any decent gil gains from fishing at the moment?

Or should I instead focus on MIN or BTN? Planning to get them all at 60, just don't know which order and which ones will give me the best means of gil to begin with.

From my experience fishing in HW is still the most enjoyable of DoL but botany makes the most money. I have been leveling mine all at around the same time switching between them to take breaks from one or the other but when in need of gil I switch to botanist currently which is why my botanist is slightly higher level than my others.

What is it that Botanists get that gives so much money?

For me onions. I can easily HQ baked onion soup using 2/3 HQ onions. I sell the remaining NQ onions.

But as snugglebut said, Highland Wheat sells well too. So does Dark Chestnut items.

For mining the only things that so far compares is Titanium Ore and Dravinian Spring Water.

There is no specific thing I farm on it as I tend to stock up on multiple things for selling, but currently most HQ versions of most materials range from 3-10k each and most NQ tend to rake in around 400gil to 1k each which might not seem a lot but for stacks of 99 it adds up pretty fast. There are obviously going to be exceptions and worth checking the market on your world for specific things to see which is currently the most in demand and highest value on your own world.

To give an example I made about 450k on sale of around 80 HQ highland wheat few days back which only took me between 30mins to an hour to gather and made around 80-100k each on the stacks of 99 NQ ones obtained while gathering those HQ versions. The price has dropped a bit on those since then but like always prices go up and down depending on world and demand.

Mining is lower value on most things where I only get for the most part around 50gil to couple hundred gil per NQ even and likewise the HQ for most items is worth less than the equivalent botany lvl counterparts. Fishing can still make great money in HW zones but there are fewer high value materials/fish while taking much longer to gather them and on average tends to bring in around half way between botany and mining income in my current experience. This is my own experience and have to take into account maybe others are having a different experience on their worlds and their efforts plus I only have around lvl 55 miner/fisher right now and 57 botanist.
