They need to give us a "personal" Parser that ONLY parsers our damage. That way no one is violated and you only share if you want to and nothing is infringed upon and we (PS4 users) can get dps without someone having to tell us that plays on pc and has one.

While this would be a step in the right direction and WOULD help to sidestep the issue of parser harassment (they'd need to make sharing number/asking for numbers punishable, though), it's a pretty imperfect solution. I mean, basically everyone's DPS is bad in the slime phase of A3 (due to hopping from target to target, times when all targets are dead and you're sitting on your hands, etc.) and it brings down the DPS of for the entire raid. If you could only see yours you might be worried, even if you're doing very well, that you're basically sucking. Same thing on the last boss in Wanderer's Palace (Hard). Even with the tank pulling him out constantly he's gonna be hit while vuln down is on him a few times, an add is going to stand in the vuln down buffs, he'll get hit while tethered, etc. and it's going to hurt your DPS. Same thing with T9, and the phase where you can't do positionals, or. . . well you get the point.

If you can't see everyone else's you can't really be sure if it's hurting yours more than it should or not.

Conversely, if you can post numbers in chat, people will still ask for them and harass over them. And if you aren't allowed to, you'll never know what DPS you should shoot for unless you go outside the game to look--and if people were willing to do that they'd already be looking at optimal rotations and be doing pretty well. And even if you DO look you mostly see heavily inflated numbers from characters with a bunch of buffs on run by players doing end game progression in gear you won't have for 2 more months.

Which is to say: Personal 'me only' parsers are better than nothing in that they tell you what you're doing, but they're also not great in that they don't give you a benchmark for whether what you're doing is good, bad, or average.
