Paladin Problems :o !

Hello i did start playing Final Fantasy XIV a couple of weeks ago ... now im lvl 50 paladin and i feel like that my class is totally crap against a Warrior who can create alot more aggro and keep it ... take less dmg as well .. so i wonder if its just me or if the class is worse then warrior ?! hope for a good answer

Its your gear you need to upgrade all of it. This is usually the biggest issue when people are having trouble, assuming you are using all of your abilities. But looking at your Lodestone profile your gear is lacking for the current state of the game. Start farming poetics to get the iron works gear, assuming you have post 50 dungeons unlocked. You can get some better items off the MB if you have the money.

The problem is the high end gear is up to ilvl 210, and even with level synch you will have a tough time. Most people may have ilvl150 or higher gear and they are running roulettes so you may get paired with them making your job harder

Ahhh so i need to do a job like blacksmits and stuff ? like i sayd dont know the game at all ... i did join a FC but they didnt help me that much so far ..

If your FC is not helping you people will say find another one. I'm not in a FC so I never had to ask anyone. I did level all my crafters, but just to 50. To be able to make the gear that exceeds what you have you would have to also level all crafters and get the master recipe books, that in itself will take a long time.

Couple of routes you could take, finish the main story quest and get the expansion, then you will get some decent gear once in the expansion. Or start unlocking the post 50 dungeons and running the daily roulettes that award poetic tomestones and use that to get the iron works gear, those will get you to ilvl120 and if upgraded to 135.

To unlock those other dungeons you would have atleast needed to complete the main story up to the defeat of Ultima. At which they become available talking to various NPC's. You can then also start your relic weapon, it will be an almost instant upgrade. You will get a new sword and shield. Talk to the NPC in Hirstmill in North Shroud to start this and get the weapon. It ends up being a long quest chain, but its been nerfed so that helps.

If you head on over to the FC section of the forums for your world, you may be able to find a better FC with people that will help you. Some of those FC that send random invites are just looking to increase their numbers. But there are a ton of very helpful people in this game, just need to find them.

Did finish the last quest yesterday with LVL 50 ... and there was a warrior and no matter what i did i couldnt steal the aggro from him ... a couple of people also said that the paladin is the Easy class and that paladin is worse to keep alive and stuff :s so i kinda did feel bad cause i love to play tank's in all MMOS and then that

PLD is probably the easiest class to play, some will say its boring, I enjoy it. As long as you are using all your abilities the healer should have no issues keeping you up. First thing you may want to do is start the relic ques to get a better sword and shield and then the first upgrade is really easy. There is an NPC in Vesper Bay in West Thanalan to talk to to initiate the quest The Weaponsmith of Legend. Get that rolling and get the Curtana and Shield, you will then be able to upgrade it. Unless you have the money you could buy a weapon off the market board.

The thing with the Relic is it is very long upgrade process to 135 only to have it replaced in the xpac. If you plan on getting the xpac I probably wouldn't bother upgrading it past the Atma stage. Just grind out the rest of the Main Story and get into the xpac. If you don't plan on getting the expac then I would take the upgrade all the way to the end. Though you can get a comparable weapon drop from the high end raid dungeons, but that could be a whole different animal.

There are alot of ifs ands or buts to the game and for a new player you need to decide if you are going for the xpac or not and then what to upgrade.

Dont worry what others are saying. Paladin is a fine class and also good to heal. Get some higher ilvl gear and get used to your standart combo of Fast Blade/Savage Blade/Rage of Halone and you will be just fine. Your only problem right now is that everyone else is ahead of you(gear). So the other tanks will always be better then you. But thats just a matter of gear and you dont even need the best tank gear ingame to be a compatible end game tank. With the poethic tomestones (do your daily duty roulettes) you can buy ilvl120 gear wich is already enough to be a nice tank in lvl50 content.
