    I've always thought that the Blue Mage signature weapon was a magic imbued saber. Not sure why haha, but I like the idea of that.

    Whip. Makes sense for someone who learns their abilities from monsters and beasts. Scimitar would be fine with me too.

    In the FFT games and XI, BLU uses Sabers/Scimitars as their main weapon.

    That being said, since they can absorb monster abilities, being able to dual-wield sabers like NIN in XIV would be neat, too (Dual-Wield trait).

    Then again, that would mean introducing Blue Magic points. Meh.

    scimitars/saber or whip. if they went the scimitar/saber route they could pull a ROG/NIN and steal/replace all of PLD's scimitar models and make some new ones for BLU.

    Dual wield swords or just beastlike claws, somewhat like MNKs. Don't think BLU will be nearly as good of a fit in this game as they were in XI though, this game just isn't made for it.

    How about hand-axes? I mean, as we've seen, there is a rather interesting variety of shapes within the various weapon lines we have. It's not hard to put weapons like shotels, khopesh and scimitars in a hand-axe line. And we don't have hand-axes yet. That said... don't see this happening as Square seems adamant about not letting us have some of the spells we had in previous games back, like Haste, En- and the higher levels of Stoneskin.

    I can imagine the outcries if BLU got added and it being totally different from FFXI incarnation of BLU due to making it balanced and workable with in the combat system of FFXIV.

    IF BLU comes, don't expect it to be anything like FFXIs version and you won't be dissapointed.

    I like the idea of Blue Mage using gun blades and having mechanics that involve switching between range and melee to up keep their dps, using range and melee beast spells and having auto attacks being available at range and melee.

    I'm trying to think of weapons that magic users would generally use.

    We have staves, wands, books, some weird variation of a crystal ball (star globe)

    We don't have...

    Magic Hoops.


    (It'd be a great throwback for SE)

    Edit: Seriously though, we need to stop thinking that they'll be exactly as they were in XI. (need more magical dps types)
