    Tongues.

    Long, drooly tongues.

yummy gummy tongues, used for licking and whipping.

    Tongues.

Tonfa's would be a cool fit for them actually.

Whips are too boring. Go with flails. Nobody's going to mess with a guy carrying a 10 lb iron ball chained to a cudgel. Imagine all the neat decorations you can put on them. Perhaps a stylized Chupon with mouth wide open

Why not gloves embedded with large-ish crystals on the back? Blue Mages take abilities from monsters and in this game it would make sense that those abilities could be stored in crystals and recalled whenever.

I would love something that feels new and fresh in MMOs like whips, but we all know it's just going to be something very similar with a minor tweak like Scimitars.

Whip. Makes sense for someone who learns their abilities from monsters and beasts. Scimitar would be fine with me too.

In the FFT games and XI, BLU uses Sabers/Scimitars as their main weapon.

That being said, since they can absorb monster abilities, being able to dual-wield sabers like NIN in XIV would be neat, too (Dual-Wield trait).

Then again, that would mean introducing Blue Magic points. Meh.

scimitars/saber or whip. if they went the scimitar/saber route they could pull a ROG/NIN and steal/replace all of PLD's scimitar models and make some new ones for BLU.

I'd rather whips be reserved for Beastmaster. You can do nifty things with them (probably borrow from the combat animations used in the Lords of Shadows games) and would fit that job quite well.

Same here. If it looked like this I'd get a good chuckle. It would also be a semi-callback to the gauntlet used in FFXI's Windurst storyline.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
