Blue Mage Potential Weapons

If Blue Mage were to be added to this game, what weapon do you think they would use?

Blue Mage weapons in previous Final Fantasy games are as versatile as the job itself. From whips to lances and even forks! Blue Mages are one of the few traditional FF jobs that, for better or worse, lack an iconic weapon. This opens them up to use just about anything, if they were introduced into XIV!

What do you think they would use? What would you want them to use?

I'd rather whips be reserved for Beastmaster. You can do nifty things with them (probably borrow from the combat animations used in the Lords of Shadows games) and would fit that job quite well.

Why not gloves embedded with large-ish crystals on the back? Blue Mages take abilities from monsters and in this game it would make sense that those abilities could be stored in crystals and recalled whenever.

Same here. If it looked like this I'd get a good chuckle. It would also be a semi-callback to the gauntlet used in FFXI's Windurst storyline.
