    4-man: competent people.
    8-man: competent people.

Dream team for 8-man would be like WAR DRK SCH WHM* NIN DRG SMN MCH, which is my static's comp. High burst opener (Trick+Litany+Hypercharge). Between NIN/DRG, one can be subbed out for a MNK.

*Have not played much with ASTs in raids.

    ^ Pretty much.

On a side note: Why would you want a NIN to apply the slashing debuff when YOU, the WAR, should be applying it?

    1. Ninja's Dancing Edge is the lowest potency out of the three options they have.
    2. Storm Edge and Butcher Block combos are WAR's highest potency combos.

Also if you have a NIN he can Goad you without having the MCH sacrifice its turrets pulse AoE for your TP regen.

Oh, I know! I know for certain. But in all the many many dungeons, trials and raids I've run, I've never ever managed to convince a Ninja to let me apply it instead. I always see my icon up for three seconds before they replace it with theirs. I wanna be useful, but they won't let me! So if they're gonna do it anyway, I might as well make use of it.

Some people set it so that only their debuffs display on the mob, so it could be that.

As for what I like as a DRK, a SMN and just someone to give me some TP. NIN, MCH, new AST Spire, whatever. Having a 60 SMN myself, I like it when I have a SMN in the group when I'm tanking because all the groups of regular enemies die that much faster.

Naw, I'm talking about I actually take the time out to say that I'll apply the debuff in the chat, and even sometimes they'll say yes! ... And then there it is, despite everything else.

Man, preferential Summoners. Never thought I'd see the day; this expansion was nice to them. I agree though, they clean up!

Guess we'll call that rotation habit and tunnel vision then!

Yeah, they fixed my one issue with SMN which was it was very boring when aetherflow was gone. Between Dreadwyrm Trance and Tri-Disaster, SMN isn't so boring anymore. And Alexander floor 2 is like the most fun thing ever in the game for a SMN. Wave after wave after wave of delicious packs of enemies grouped up for that AoE damage.

Mathematically, there is absolutely no reason for a warrior MT, or OT to have the ninja apply the slashing De-buff.

As an Off tank warrior, you should not be using Butchers Block anyway, as it's only 20 potency over 3 GCD's higher than Storms Eye.
So the warrior will sacrifice 20 potency but a ninja will sacrifice 60 potency in 1 GCD, while being capable of outputting more power per potency.

Basically, a Warrior refusing to do it, gimps the raid with a ninja present. Unless your Ninja is absolutely terrible, or 20~ ilvls below you.

As a NIN, even when there is a WAR present, if he is main tanking, I start off with Dancing Edge (I figure I do this to give the WAR time to build other things first). Other than that, I wouldn't bother with it for the rest of the fight unless that WAR ISN'T doing it or he asks me to do it. There were times, though, where a WAR used Storm Edge immediately.
