Gearing PLD - STR or VIT accessories?

I'm curious as there seems to be two schools of thought right now. Some say to go entirely STR accessories or mostly STR accessories the other is all Fending/VIT.

What is the way to go currently?

Either, whatever you are comfortable with. If you plan on doing high end raids, may want to go VIT, as I've heard. I don't do it. I have 3 STR and 2 VIT. Works well for what I need

Get a set of each and mix and match.

Sometimes you want to go full strength, sometimes you want to go full vitality. Sometimes a bit of both.

Grab a law set of both which is easy to do. Otherwise for 95% of content the extra HP that fending gives is entirely pointless - if you don't do extreme primals or alexander savage, the only time you'll actually need more than maybe one or two fending accessories is A2 and A4 normal mode and that's if your healers are really bad/strained by bad DPS who stand in the fire. ergo, get used to wearing STR accessories.

i mean it can't hurt, the extra HP coushin can help if you get a really bad DF group but otherwise i wouldn't go for more than law VIT accessories and use your alex/esrotics on STR.

You want slaying at the highest ilvl and VIT a step down.

    Ex i190 slaying i180 fending

Slaying is useful 99% of the time fending is useful 1% of the time. Mixing and matching still favors STR over VIT. Adding 60hp (going from 180 to 190) isn't helping anything. Adding a few more STR is always contributing however small the contribution is.

Get one set of Vit first to enable larger dungeon pulls.

Then, pick up a set of Str accessories to put on for boss burns.

Then, craft/purchase a set of i150 accessories melded with 29/31 Vit/Str, as they beat everything else in terms of usefulness.

If you're feeling pretty casual about Tanking, just stick with VIT accessories.

If you're feeling kind of serious about Tanking, grab a set of both and try to keep them at the highest item level possible. You'll be wanting to mix and match them at will and thus shall want the highest combined total of both stats as possible.

If you're super invested in the Tanking life, try and meld a set of i150 accessories. They currently give us the highest possible combined total of STR and VIT on the right side at the moment. You won't do as much damage as the full STR Tank or be as much of a wall as the full VIT Tank but you'll be very efficient at both at the same time. If you want to be more specialized in either direction without going all the way you can mix and match these with the full STR/VIT accessories too.

Take both sets and mix and match. ATM I sit with 3 slaying 2 fending most of the time for savage mode except faust where I go full slaying. If I need more HP for a new encounter I can add 1 or 2 more fending. On the contrary, if I don't need extra HP at all I go full slaying.
