I capped purely from weaver. WEAVER. Farming chimera manes and deepeye tears for a few hours sucked, as well as wasting ventures for materials, but I still capped before the reset.
Dare I ask, how did you get the other materials? Things like Hallowed Water and dissolvents don't exactly craft themselves, and you can't send retainers out on ventures to get them either. That means you probably spent gil to buy them or crafted them yourself, meaning you didn't purely cap on weaver alone.

At high level, there's almost no craft that doesn't require the use of at least one of the other crafts. And right now, market prices are quite high so it would exclude all but the very wealthy to try and buy every material needed. Add to that the need for specialized items in some of the recipes, and you can see why so many people are upset.

Feel like you took that too literally. When I say I capped from weaver, I mean I did it 100% from weaver turn ins.

I had all crafts at level 50 before the expansion, so all I had to do was farm some deepeye tears and blue coral and craft Normal quality dissolvents.
Never needed hallowed water though, red scrip turn ins don't use that.

Not the same at all, if it were, far less would be complaining.
Maybe not supra, but I definitely spent way less capping red scrips than I did on the master II book. That's still the worst crafting thing ever.

And now you have capped red scrips once, what have you gained?

In terms of effort/cost vs reward, there is no comparision, the master books were great once you unlocked them.

Also possible to farm the mats for master II books, if cost was an issue, they were also a skill check and imo that was a good thing.

I'll cap red scrips again this week (costing even less than it did the first week since I maxed CUL this morning, and still way less than master II books) and I'll have my weaver chest piece.

I might equal the cost of master II books once I have the full set, maybe. But with how ridiculous of a gil sync desynth can be, I tend to doubt it.

I can see where you are coming from, though.

What I mean is, what use is that crafter chest going to be to you? (apart from a very cool glamour!!)

Any craft in game can be done without any of the 3.05 gear, where as with the master II books they unlocked a lot of new (and profitable) crafts.

Even if the new gear does help slightly with 2* crafts, where are you going to get the mats to actually make any of them?

    ^^

True, but I mean it's not like these are the last crafts we'll ever see. And whatever crafts they add in the future will more than likely require this gear, so it's good to be prepared.

Though either way, I'm really just doing this to get my weaver pimp suit.

    Everyone needs a pimp suit.

Desynthing cost me maybe 2 million. And then I went and desynthed Artisan's Tools untill I had enough gil for a mansion.

Money lost to desynth leveling was easily made up with desynthing.

Incidentally, simply by capping red scrips again you won't have an item made. You will also need to farm out favors.

Weaver is one (the) main class for me. Always has been, since 1.0.
I really dislike how they had to make something incredibly gaudy as AF2.
