Ok so I get the interest of account security and all, so I understand why there is a timer to stop a brute force attack on an account. HOWEVER! Having typed the correct password in and then told it was incorrect I decided to change said password. The change was successful (according to the launcher) then upon attempting to log in with the new password I was told it was incorrect and that I was locked out for several minutes (indeterminate for good reasons i.e. so a bot cannot be programmed to attack and then wait a fixed time). This is a stupid system. IF the password is incorrect then fine lock out the account BUT (and its a big but) IF I change said password then it should reset the timer to 0. I wasnt locked out and was able to change said password; if that is the case then clearly I am in possession of my one-time password I know my date of birth and I know the answer to my secret question. With these pieces of information, combined with the fact I have access to my email and am able to type in the password reset code, Square Enix has determined that I am able to reset my password; i.e. this is enough information to claim administrator rights over the account and alter its password. If SE believe that these facts are all that are required then similarly if such a reset occurs it makes sense that said indeterminate time ban is lifted so that I can once again log in, especially if your launcher is determined to tell me that even the new password... that I have just changed.... is incorrect. It is a quality of life improvement that needs to happen as this is not the first time I have had to change my password due to a launcher bug.
