Queuing as party for Leveling Roulette?

Its 3.0 and it still takes forever and a day, level a dps, to queuing in that roulette. Its also makes me want to avoid doing this roulette, because I know most the people doing it will have their own paces and its very frustrating when you just want to go in and out instead of full dungeon clears. And I for one may not have the time to deal with that if i only have an hour or so to play. I understand that this is a way for older players to help newer players with older content but then why add the under size party feature. So basically what I'm saying is please let us start queuing as a party for this roulette.

I like the idea, but I think it will be shot down by the it's used to help new players argument.

I think, however, they could work around this by letting you queue as a party, but only with 3 or less players. They could also add the second restriction that you can only queue with 1 DPS in the party, because let's face it, that's all it's really needed for.

Edit: Forgot to add. This is probably too much effort for what it does, so even if no-one finds flaws with this method it'd probably never happen.

Considering that I've been queueing as a dps in low level roulette and only get like, 5-8 minute queues, I don't think that's forever and a day. But hey, everyone's experiences are different, ya?

I still think this should be a thing since it helps players no matter what. Not everyone can get a full party going and it's helpful for even the one person who needs to fill up that one slot. They really should just get over the whole thing as Expert and High roulette let you do it already.

The theory that it's for new players doesn't make sense anymore either considering that newer players still need to get through the High level and expert level dungeons.

I really wouldn't mind being able to que the Leveling Roulette as a group. It doesn't really make any sense to me that we can the High Level and Expert roulettes, while we can't the Leveling one. The only real argument I've ever seen is that they need people going in alone to fill party slots for new players doing the story dungeons, but ALL the roulettes, (except guildhests obviously), contain story dungeons or trials, so that doesn't make any sense if that's the reason for the limitation......

    EDIT:

That last sentence is true. During prime time on my server I rarely get 5-8 min ques as a DPS, (usually 10-15 min). If it's not prime time, then I can expect to sit there for at LEAST 30 minutes. Oh, and during prime time, my server still has a log in que every day, so it's not like it's due to being a "low population world".......

Yeah, and for me, I tend to queue at like, 8pm PST and onward so I was referencing a time frame that's not even on prime time. The Aether datacenter's been pretty nice though since the expansion came out. I'm one of those rare ones though that has never had a 40+ minute dps queue while leveling. I don't know if it's the times I usually do it (usually never prime time) or what, but I've just never done more than a half an hour. Hell, my first job leveled was a dps and everything popped within 15 minutes.

If you don't want to do the roulette, then don't do it. It's there to help leveling players get through the dungeons they need to progress their story, not for people to cherrypick what dungeon they want to run in a full party.

And I for one may not have the time to deal with that if i only have an hour or so to play.
If you aren't sure you'll have time to finish the dungeon you get, it's probably best not to queue.

On the other hand, even if you do queue and you have to leave, DPS replenish quickly.

You can't use the undersized party option for roulette anyway, so that has no bearing on it at all.

Then you are truly very lucky. I was practically jumping for joy during the first couple of days of Early Access when I could instant que as a DPS, because I was so used to queing up and having to find something else to do while waiting for forever, lol. It's still a lot better than it was before the expansion, but it's a far cry from the quick ques that tanks and healers have, at least for me. But hey, each person's experience differs, and while I don't like the wait, it's not killing the game for me or anything like that.....

I normally just want to bring along one DPS friend that is leveling or something, and would love to be able to get my low level out of the way at the same time. Sometimes it sucks to run a friend through a dungeon knowing your only rewards are a pittance of gil and gear that you'll either be nice and pass to people still leveling, or greed on for seals.

As a "technically" new player (read: rerolled on a new server, so starting completely from scratch), the solo-only restriction definitely isn't helping me. :/ It basically just means my husband and I never do the roulettes, which is unfortunate as we'd love to be able to complete the challenge log entry and get the nice bonus xp and stuff.

I don't really think that allowing people to queue as a party so long as there is at least one slot open for roulette would be too much effort...

    Huh? o.O

I queued for both Leveling roulette and High level roulette as a MCH yesterday and my longest wait was 10 minutes.

If you want to "just go in and out" and not do full clears, then you should be using Party Finder. Duty Finder is designed specifically to help other players, not your personal "do what I want" queue. The bonus XP and rewards we get is incentive to help others out.

Tell you what... I'd agree with letting you queue as a party if they took away the bonuses. After all, you're avoiding the entire reason the bonuses were added.

That would reduce the number of new players being helped by 66%. Not acceptable. Queuing as a Duo might be acceptable, as you only harm 33% of the new players, but it might incentivize more than that number in veteran players.
