Okay here's how you add new egis and keep everyone happy.

Take the minion management system.. or even the mount management system and look at how it is set up. Within these systems every mount/minion you own is listed in an easy to use interface. You select the minion/mount you want drag the icon from the window to an action bar and *POOF* you have a hotkey that allows you to summon the mount/minion Hell you don't even have to drag it.. you can summon it straight from the window.

So we know how minion/mount management works, I dont need to go into any further detail other than it creates a library on your character that retrieves information about what you wish to select.

My question is, why isn't this being employed for summoners and their egi? We don't need new spells that suimmon new egi, we never did. What we needed was to use a system that is already there and allow that library to link the the three summon spells that are already present. Because what is essentially being done with summon I and summon II is the previous link to the 'pets' (topaz and emerald carbuncle) are being severed and the new egis (titan and garuda) are being plugged in in their place.

So why can't we simply have a selection system that works with the framework already in the minion/mount system that creates a library of available egi and plug and play the egi into those 2/3 spells? Doesn't that make a lot more sense than creating all new spells for them?

By they way yes I realize they're toying with the idea of a glamour system for egi.. but why just glamour the pets when you could give the job what it deserves which is fully functional pets with their own strengths and weaknesses?

All this really entails is tailoring already existing framework to be able to interact with three spells and then to create the models and abilities for the primals not accounted for. After that it's as simple as making a single new egi each time a new primal is implemented. Not really that huge of a task. I'm also pretty sure not every primal needs to be converted into an egi, so there's that. this allows you to also define roles for egi. So you can keep tanks with tanks, melee with melee, ranged with ranged.

So how does this system work?

Well you have you summon spells. They currently summon garuda, titan and ifrit.

You want to summon Ramuh, Leviathan and Shiva. Open your little egi management interface. Click on the ranged tab at the top. Click Ramuh's icon, click the "Assign" button at the bottom of the window. (Since this game loves notice dialogs) a dialog box pops up alerting you that this will unsommon and change your current egi for Summon I. Click OK.

Next click on the tanks tab at the top. Select Leviathan's icon, click "Assign". Dialog pops up, OK. Next click on melee, select Shiva.. you get the idea.

Don't want to mess with an interface? Want all of your egi available to you at all times?

No problem. Macros can already distinguish between pets. the system knows the difference between Eos and Selene, scholars can tell you if they've ever worked with macros, because you have to specify for icons. Simply add syntax to the summon spell in the macro system to accept an argument for the egi library. i.e. /ac "Summon I" Pet Ramuh

This is what should be done, this is what summoners deserve. I'm sure we'd settle for glamours.. but we're paying monthly for this game.. should we really be expected to settle?
