Daily quests for earning red and blue scrip

The Ixal quests were perfect for casual players. They didn't take long, workshop buffs made each craft unique and interesting, and the supplied materials removed any gil requirements. Why don't we have something like this for scrip?

Daily quests that let you earn 75-100 of each scrip per day could help all players earn their master 3 books and cap red scrip each week. Hardcore players could still farm collectibles to earn scrip faster. In that way, it would be very similar to farming dungeons for law and esoterics with roulette bonuses for players short on time.

It wouldn't fix everything, but I think it would be a step in the right direction for a system that a lot of players are obviously unhappy about.

You were clearly doing different Ixal quests to me!

I'm a fairly causal player, usually an hour before bed most nights, and the daily Ixal grind for sealants was the absolute lowest point in the game for me. Casual players have plenty of good content that they haven't done yet to keep them busy. But when they introduced sealants it meant I had to do the same repetitive thing EVERY TIME I logged in, with no time to do anything else! It made the game really boring. In the end I gave up on farming sealants for use and decided I would just buy them off the MB to further my crafting goals when I had the gil.

Basically I feel dailies are only helpful for people who have plenty of playtime, not people with little play time who want to enjoy the game.

    My 2 cents

I'm not suggesting this as a new daily grind, but as an optional alternative to a currently existing even worse grind. If you think collectibles are better, I'd love to hear your reasoning. To me, they're about as repetitive (and expensive) as doing max level GC supply and provisioning missions every day. Having just done that for leveling, I can say it took me significantly more time and gil every day than Ixal quests ever did.

The more ways they add to earn scrip the better, because then you can pick and choose between a variety of tasks instead of doing the same thing every day. The Ixal quest system is something that already exists, though, so it should be comparatively easy to add as opposed to something completely new. Then you could do dailies, or ignore them completely and stick to the current system, or even mix and match. Options are good!

I like the idea of a quest-based alternative way to get scrips, it was simply the daily restriction which put me off the idea. Relax that to a weekly restriction to coincide with the cap reset and you're on to a good idea.

Me too was suffered form doing Ixal's daily everyday. (I quit it after I got my gears)
But for the Red Scrip, if daily offer like 80-100 per day, it would help a lot since there's still 450 cap so I don't have to do it everyday, just until I cap my Red scrip .

That was exactly my thought, too. I personally think 90 per day would be the ideal number (5 days to cap), but I expect it would be 75 to match the esoterics you get from an expert roulette. Even if it were 75, you could still cap in less than 6 days by doing a few of the easier turn-ins. Crafting 4 collectibles a week to cap sooner so you don't have to do the daily seems a lot better to me than crafting ~25 collectibles every week just to cap with no other options.

I posted something along the same lines like 10 min after you.

I think it should at least be challenging / time consuming to make us earn the scrips just would like something to cut down the out of pocket costs in earning the upgrades
