When decisions are coming that are permanent, pros and cons need to be presented.

Sure they could end up small (and that is what I and most people are hoping) but just as equally they could be large.

Nothing in an MMO is ever permanent...and most of the stuff people complaining about are superficial...LIKE seriously how loots are distributed for 1 battle, or what gear you get from one battle. Um...yeah...

Agreed. In a game that boasts "do anything and everything with one character" there needs to be some major transparency if we're suddenly going to be punished for a certain choice that doesn't conform with others'.

And they don't need to tell us exactly what the rewards are. Just to clarify what "greater" means as in English it came me a lot. Because if it means "better items" then which Grand Company we join is a group decision with linkshells and friends. But if it means "more company seals" than it's still just a personal choice as it won't be as big an issue.

Accept SE has said exactly that. Once you join a Grand Company, you cannot leave it to join another.

I'm not addressing the things others are speaking about. But SE currently has no plans to let players switch between grand companies. This is the first time I have addressed it, I've let others do it so far. But honestly, that falls under the category of permanent.

It was 5 years before you could redo your ring choice in CoP from XI. In the lifespan of an MMO, 5 years may as well be permanent.

Did anyone stop to realize that the grand company greater rewards doesn't apply to gear drops? I think it will be applied to seals or our rank standing within the company itself. Kinda like how we get a hp buff for simply being in a light/full party. Doesn't make that much of an impact. So relax and choose the GC that you really want to be a part of. Otherwise you will just end up a bitter player. Especially if you turn out to be wrong about your speculation. Ask yourself what is most important? Do I want to be forced to join the GC that I didn't want to be in based on what was speculation on a fan forum? Or... Choose the GC that speaks to my playstyle and eventually there will be enough players that will be logging in and joining the same one that you do and love. The devs said don't choose based on gear so it might be wise to trust them on that issue. Enjoy the patch everyone I for one have never seen this many positive posts about a patch and feel the tangible excitement for the game since before launch. Keep it going guys and great job devs!!

I wish I could make an unchangeable decision based on your intuition, but I'm just not certain I can. All anyone wants is clarification. Does it mean better items, or does it mean more seals?

Again if it wasn't for the fact that we can't change Companies after we pick one then it wouldn't be a big deal.

Actually they stated they are planning on releasing a "Free Company" method later down the road where you can change your Grand Company. This is the SAME EXACT SETUP as XI's Nations (Exactly the same, at the start of that game you couldn't change your nation, after a year and new content/expansion was released they changed it where you could change your nation because it only adds more content for people to do).

And it's totally unheard of that MMOs change over time.
Look at the Armoury System, claiming system, exp distribution. You name it.

And SE said they'll implement a way to change your alignment further down the road.
I bet it'll be the same with your nation (XI was the same, I believe).
