They're not taking anything away from you for choosing a different nation, they're just giving you more for playing with people from the same nation. It's like having extra vendors or items for sale in ffxi for getting together with some people from the same nation and taking over a region.

The problem isn't in their method, the problem lies in the order in which the method was carried out. The pride should have been enlisted at start before the linkshells were formed. As you would have been more likely to be playing with people from your own nation already.

They're not taking away my drop rates? Okay.

    Their method's are terrible.

And i'm sure if most people go along with these sort of choices, they will only choose to implement them more in future.

Why would you segregate a population already dwindled? For "Pride"? Not smart SE. Not smart.

No they're not taking away your drop rates, you didn't have them in the first place. You're EARNing higher drop rates.

They need to enlist that pride, it is needed to drive the story line in each nation, to introduce pvp and numerous other things.

I think the fact that they added GC specific salutes reinforces the pride point.

It's in no way a bad thing cause they're not taking anything away, they're just giving you more if you're more dedicated.

It's just bad that they did it so late in the game

I actually 'stole' some gear from the Maelstrom but I'm going to be joining the Flames anyway.

    I feel so naughty.

If i have the oppurtunity to earn more with doing it with the people from the same GC, then yes, they are taking my drop rates away by penalising me. By how much is uncertain at this point.

The salutes were a good implementation and I feel enhances the pride/individuality of the company.

But I guarentee you there will be parties being formed, demanding same company for the highest chance of drop rates out of ignorance.

A lot of players relly on public dungeon raids and those people will be effected.

They're not segregating anything. Linkshell doesnt not equal Nation. This is a nation based stoyline quest so it should have nation based content/perks. This isnt endgame content. IT's storyline content. Endgame dungeons and hnm are LS content.

In ffxi did you fight the Sandoria Dragon mission with people from Bastok? no Did you do Sky with people from other nations? yes

It's like earning the perks for having a full party. Do you cry that you dont have the same perks when you cant find a full pt?

Please dont compare FFXIV to FFXI, its a mistake you and many others are making.

Whilst it was a great game, the market has changed severely over the years.

And many people regard end dungeons as Endgame Content.

LS's are segregating players. Read the post above you for the fact.

Many people are being effected with the repercusions. You'd have to be ignornant and/or blind to not see it.

Guys, look at the other threads about this. The "Same company bonus" thing is only for the low level Ifrit fight.

Avraym's argument is that SE has seemingly created a system where it is optimal for everyone to belong to the same Grand Company. Everyone would then always enjoy the maximum drop rates. People belonging to minority Grand Companies may be shunned because their inclusion would cause a negative effect on the majority. You can say they lose their bonus, or that they incur a penalty. Either way you look at it, though, isn't not an incentive to break the mold and join an unpopular Grand Company. This threatens to further solidify Ul'dah's position as the primary city of Eorzea despite the new transportation.
