Avraym's argument is that SE has seemingly created a system where it is optimal for everyone to belong to the same Grand Company. Everyone would then always enjoy the maximum drop rates. People belonging to minority Grand Companies may be shunned because their inclusion would cause a negative effect on the majority. You can say they lose their bonus, or that they incur a penalty. Either way you look at it, though, isn't not an incentive to break the mold and join an unpopular Grand Company. This threatens to further solidify Ul'dah's position as the primary city of Eorzea despite the new transportation.

Too bad it's completely wrong. The only thing affected by GC solidarity is the low-level Ifrit fight. If you can't find four people across your entire server to do that with from your same company, there's something wrong. And twelve help you if your LS is trying to keep r25 content LS-exclusive and force everyone into the same GC just to get a bonus to r25 content.

Original Japanese = not a translation.

I'll wait for clarification if you will.

I am waiting. I'm just asking. Its a fair question, given the japanese thread mentioned R25, but all the english note said was:

"Those who defeat Ifrit in a party formed exclusively of members from their own Grand Company will earn greater rewards."

With no mention of R25 or R50, its a fair question. Less passive agressive plzx.

If you go to the JP patch notes, even using crappy google translation it clearly says at the last sentence that the R25~ Ifrit fight is the one involving the rewards increasing with all members being from the same company.

Wish the english one shed some light on it. All it said was:

"Those who defeat Ifrit in a party formed exclusively of members from their own Grand Company will earn greater rewards."

No distinction between Easy Mode & Hard.
