The disparity is much greater on a skill like flaming arrow. 1,1 from a MCH is more reliable than 1,2 from a BRD.It's diluted as damage that's dealt to Faust...which honestly should be your only concern. Just like how silly it is to take face value of a BRD doing 1.2k+ on faust because of flame arrow, you shouldn't take to face value that a machinist is doing 1.1k because not all of that damage is being dealt to faust.
Why are some of you so hell bent on saying MCH can't pull decent consistent numbers ? It's like you want to be victims for no reason whatsoever....
Uh yeah I was talking without food. Without party buffs. Without potions.
I think we may need to consider that people's parses are off, with such inconsistency in the data that we have.
Isn't that a 4 minute parse?http://gyazo.com/e8aeee02b74b8a3c82efcc2a69f96b75 i167 from the other mch thread. i was over 1k at 3:00 so in this gear I'd still be over 1k in faust
man. this game is hard. i should go play an easier one like runescape or something.
Which means the third Wildfire combo just hit with all the buffs like Raging Strike and Hypercharge?
Its a more stable read of average dps. At least 30 seconds would have passed after the third wildfire, so it'll have stabilized after the burst. A 3:30 parse would be right after wildfire triggers and that would be inflated a bit.
If they were using the i180 weapon, that sounds about right. you have to give or-take a variance of 20-40 because of crits on wildfire (which especially inflates mid-parse numberr so that really should not be taken at face value)

Downed Alex Savage Turn 1 with PLD WAR WHM SCH MNK MNK NIN and myself on MCH. yay
I just think that MCH should be parsed for 3 minutes (Just right before Raging Strike resets) to see the average numbers for sustained damage. Its a more stable read of average dps. At least 30 seconds would have passed after the third wildfire, so it'll have stabilized after the burst. A 3:30 parse would be right after wildfire triggers and that would be inflated a bit.

Because it's more or less :
00:00 - 00:20 : Fully buffed Wild Fire combo
00:20 - 01:30 : Keep up Hot Shot and Lead Shot, do Split Shot, Slug Shot, Clean Shot depending on what proc'd, adds some oGCDs to the mix. (The usual rotation)
01:30 - 01:50 : Non Hypercharged+Raging Strike Wild Fire combo (Or alternatively, you can wait for Hypercharge and do the second wild fire combo at 02:00)
01:50 - 03:00 : The usual rotation
03:00 : Repeat step 1.
At least that's what I think.
Even though I wouldn't call myself an expert machinist just yet.

Any tips for a2savage ??
Machinist aoe rotation is very tp taxing
We are going tonight hopefully. For the first time.
You should be doing 900-1000 without a dragoon and 1000-1100 with, on Faust.
