    Mercy Stroke proper usage?

my HP on Warrior is over 10,000. how come sometimes Mercy Stroke only restores like 100-some points and other times will restore 1,000-some points?

i know the tool-tip says UP TO 20%, but really... is this really supposed to be happening like that? seems like the action is quite unreliable.

It only restores 1000+ if you "kill" an opponent with the skill.

Are you using it with bloodbath on? That 100 you are seeing is probably the health restoration from that.

As said before you only get the 20% heal if mercy stroke actually kills the target.

If used properly it acts as a very reliable self-heal when pulling packs of mobs, as it restores your hp when dealt as the finishing blow. Practice the timing, and it'll give your healer a little breathing room. (It will also make you look super pro!)

yeah, i know how the skill works. and also wasn't using bloodbath. my WAR has around like 12,000-some HP. i have seen it restore around 126points and have seen it restore around 1,200-some points. i just don't understand why make the action potency vary by such a large degree. furthermore, i have never once seen the action restore even close to 20%. the most i have ever seen is a 10% return. what am i doing wrong?

I noticed this myself too, I always assume that it was because the heal amount was capped to my max HP.
Something like if I use Mercy Stroke at 14500/15000 HP and it killed the target I will only get 500HP healed instead of the usual 20% which should be around 3k HP

Yes, it won't heal you for more HP than you have to be healed.

i just got healed for 1,256 HP when my HP was at 11997/12557.

so, i still don't know what is wrong with whatever i am doing. i have seen it heal for as little as 120-some points and as high as 1200-some points. i don't know why the return varies by such a large degree, but i can say i have never once seen it actually heal for 20% of my HP.

I was thinking for a while that Mercy Stroke should function like Mug, if you hit the target with Mercy Stroke and it dies within 5 sec, you should get the heal, regardless if your land the killing blow or not.
Since there are at least 3~4 player would hit it, one of them would have the chance to get the killing blow, if there able to land it correctly.
