I love using a properly timed mercy stroke, especially on packs of mobs. It's actually helped save my butt from death when I take burst damage and not have a defensive cd lined. up. Couple a properly executed mercy stroke with equilibrium, and the healers go "WTH did I just crit?"

Landing that killing blow when quarantined in A4 sure is satisfying. Anyway were you testing that on a low-level dummy? I mean you can replicate that with souleater or bloodbath.

It is quite unreliable, though. Mercy Stroke has to be the killing blow, which is incredibly difficult to time as a consequence of latency. I generally just treat it as an off-GCD 200 potency attack that will sometimes occasionally heal me for a good chunk.

Actually, it doesn't entirely need to be the "killing" blow. As long as the target dies during the animation you'll get the heal. Gives a bit more space in which to use it... a bit... xD

Its an OGCD attack that you can use when it pops. Thats basically how you use it---a small damage booster.

If you're in a dps burn, or on a big boss, use it whenever it's up for that extra damage.

When killing trash or in A4 quarantine like rawker stated, try to get a killing blow. It's always nice to see that 3.6k heal tick before you get out of quarantine.

I doubt the skill was designed to be "reliable". Especially when you reach the higher levels where it's hard to gauge when to use it. And you pretty much use it as a OGCD dDPS skill rather than something you keep for it's "healing" effect. It's a really useful skill as a OGCD DPS skill but otherwise the healing effect has really little usage at the higher levels.

Like they said it's nice in quarantine.

I've noticed the amount healed doesn't depend on my hp, but instead the dmg done or more accurately the amount of hp remaining on the mob. If the mob has a sliver of hp I have only gotten 300 despite 24k hp. However if I kill the quarantine mob with 4-6% then I receive significantly more hp from mercy stroke.
