Roughly calculated the costs for red gear, time i need to collect the required items and the influence to my playstyle (from do what i want to a fixed time shedule so i don't miss spawns)

Costs per week are between 2 to 10 Millions if take the current market prices, biggest cost driver are adamantium nuggets which will very likely will rise because you have to decide to gather ore or get collectibles for red gatherer scripts.

I don't added the prices for red scripts for a full set but a full set will likely cost the price of a medium or even large house over several weeks.

I am solo crafter in my own free company, i gathered/build all ship parts till enterprise by my own and started stockpiling parts for the invinicible 2. I don't mind grinding if the final goals seems worth it, getting gated crafting gear which is gated behind timed spawns isn't.

Thats just stupid. I don't need a second job, i already work full time.

i crafted some bsm mch-weapon which gave 22 red scrips (26 with star, 30 or 31 with high collectability) so it wasnt that bad for me to reach the scrip cap. i still had to farm a lot of adamantite for it though. the good news is, that once you tried their newest, most boring and frustrating time sink called favors, you will suddenly feel like reaching your scrip caps is an easy task.

Reaching the cap is not really the problem but what to do with it since at least I don't know where to start because there are a lot of things that need them...aagh I really hope they change something

Nearest I can tell, gatherers are supposed to spend 14 weeks capping red scrips for gear on one class, and then start buying favors with red scrips once they no longer need to spend them on gear, selling the rare mats and using the profits to buy the crafted-only offhand, belt, and accessories to increase their returns. The current problem is the intersection of time-limited and time-specific collectible windows, along with yields so pitiful that the weekly cap seems like an unreachable target instead of a polite speed limiter like the Esoterics cap.

It's meant to be Ixali Oaknots all over again, except instead of taking half an hour out of your day and additionally yielding a ton of EXP for leveling your other crafting classes, it takes at minimum 14 hours of the week, requires you to be at 60 already (making the EXP reward from hand-ins useless), and includes an extra layer of RNG just to keep things "interesting."

I highly suspect this entire system is meant to endure until the next level-cap raise, but going from Yoshida's sweet promises of a nicer endgame for crafters and gatherers to having an entire year's worth of progression outlined in a single patch is more than a little daunting. Especially for people who wanted to feel like they've accomplished something this week.

My honest opinion: Crafting now is a joke. here i thought it was time consuming and expensive getting to max before HW, now I look at the process to get scripts, the mats for end game crafting, and the items crafted, and there doesn't seem to to be any real point in crafting anymore. FF is supposed to be my relaxing game after RL. now looking at crafting, it seems i would have to give up my job and studies and play full time to be able to even make a dent in progressing.
Is there truly any sort of method that could get you to end game crafting before you decide the time is not worth it? because so far, the rewards I am seeing for end game crafter are not worth it. a few classes have items that would look for a glamour, there are a few bardings and minions. other than that, what could an end game crafter offer after putting all that time and effort into reaching that level.

It's 3.05. Nobody, except some turds spending a gillion gil maybe, will be a 'endgame'-crafter within the next few patches.

Crafter and gatherer (with no gillion gil) will get a few tools/gear until 3.1, maybe 1-3 for one or two craft/gath.. and that's totally enough for 3.0x.

As mentioned here or elsewhere what truly lacks is incentive to get the class specific gear. As it stands now all you really should aim for are the endgame waist/accessories, then main hand and offhand of each class.

Obtaining the head/body/hand/legs/feet is a bit of a waste considering that the gains don't really justify the investment.

See one huge issue atm is SE is afraid to take jumps with adding passive traits to class specific gear.

    Some basic examples:

Class Specific Hands=+1 to quantity of materials (lumber, nuggets etc all doubled for x class)

Class Specific Body=+20 Max Durability to all synths

Class Specific Head=Lowers level of recipe by 5 levels

Class Specific Legs=Grants one more action after a synth is "completed"

Class Specific Feet=Start with 1/3 progress

Yea not all that great and just thought off top of head but the idea is, why can't class specific gear have perks when they are used to add on top of the specialization system. Heck maybe have it where it can only be active with specialization system. Do just feel they are missing something huge especially with Gathering.

Heck we're pretty much held at gunpoint to forever be stuck around 600 GP with no hope of ever hitting 1000 heck even 700. So why can't the class specific of x gather offer a huge GP boost? This in essence would do what the craft passives above would do. Wouldn't it be so much nicer if say wearing all 5 pieces of the Botanist set granted a total of 500GP so you could have 1.1k GP, just think what you could do with that GP.

It would open up options for players it would encourage them to obtain the gear and actually look forward to obtaining something which would change the dynamic of how they play the class and not something which just offers a minuscule difference in gathering and hq rate.

That's my 2 cents though, this concept of specialization is still in it's infant stage so maybe they do have ideas in store like abilities that allow you to get double the quantity of materials from one synth or increase GP for focusing on gearing one DOL over the other, but time will tell. Hopefully with feedback they can make adjustments to the system that encourage people to look forward to specializing rather than feeling like they are dragging their feet towards what feels like a semi incomplete system.

I really dislike the amount of time I have to invest for the new crafted and gathering gear..
So to cap all my Eso tomes, and scripts for the week it takes about 20hrs.
Then I would have to use said red gathering scripts on favors that I have to use to gather.
Now add onto dailies and actually gathering nodes I may need.. Gathering feels like a full time job now :/..
I feel sorry for people who run free companies, progression raids, have full time jobs and have to deal with this. That would be so bad.

I really like the idea of passive traits - that Would be something to think about but I doubt SE will implementiert this.
My problem with the whole time gating thing is - I'm playing the game because it's / was fun Not because I' m forced to.
I don't wanna be forced to spend my time doing something that I still did a month or so ago in less time and with more Joy.
I Do understand capping Esoterics and stuff for battle classes but crafting and gathering were Not meant to be gated because it's a while other part of this - I hate being taken away the fun and progress due to money making considerations SE!
