    Crafting got ruined/useless in 3.05 - hope not only players read this...

    "It seems the SE has intentionally run DoL/DoH into the ground via a combination of a lack of rewards and the single most convoluted grind I have ever seen in a video game.

    Crafters have almost nothing to offer combat classes anymore. If you're not a culinarian, the best you can do is i180 gear that is EXORBITANTLY expensive. MAYBE pentamelded with rank V materia (which are several million a piece) it might be relevant, but even then the crafting of these items is gated behind an obscene timesink.

    everything is now gated behind this weekly scrip turn-in system wherein you will spend millions of gil for the privilege of spending MORE millions of gil to EITHER craft something this week or use your scrips to buy mats to sell on the AH to other crafters. I don't think non-crafters really have been exposed to how bad this is
    ...you're looking at more than a year of grinding turn-ins every week. 66 weeks, to be exact. I'm sure this content won't be obsolete by then.."

    My personal opinion is that I really liked crafting and the thought of it until well yesterday - being gated in such a cruel manner and basically being useless to my fellow guildies besides selling my stuff to other crafters on the market board is just ... not amusing.

    I really hope someone will see this and maybe the devs will look at this - the above and other reasons as stated.

    I wouldn't say ruined. By I for one am disappointed about the red scrips. I liked the blue ones. But all the red scrips are HEAVILY gated behind gathering. And there are not crafted gathering gears T.T I think that disappointed me the most; that I can not craft my fishing set or rob. But I can craft all the crafter AF?

    Please consider, 450 DAILY cap and adding gather's 170 gear that can be HQ'd and Melded.

    They need to either make it daily with the current rewards we get (10 max gatherer scrips per turn in, 27 max crafter scrips per turn in) or MASSIVELY boost the rate you get items at. Because I just used up TWO favors on my BTN and got 4 swan feathers. That is an abysmally small drop rate for something I could be using gear on... gear that is guaranteed, not 'random'.

    By trying to restrict omnicrafters, it's only going to increase the price of all items across the field. Hard to tell what demand is going to be, but when you limit supply prices will raise to amounts nobady can afford anymore. This paired with the fact how much time (and time = gil) it takes to get the materials for these crafts, crafters who endure this have no intention to cut their prices. They need to increase the amount of materials coming into the system by increasing 1) amount of red scripts /collectable, 2) weekly cap of red scripts and 3) proc rate of concealed nodes. I don't mind the difficulty of the crafts to HQ them, but the amount of materials we're currently working with is just ridicilous.

    Bolded the main issue with the current system. Capping access to raw materials was the stupidest thing they could have done if they wanted to make crafting more casual. I've said this in another post but red scrips should only have ever been used for access to alternative cheap sets gear for gatherer's and crafters as is was for blue scrips not materials.

    Exactly, it is completely manageable if you do it as SQE intended - but it takes forever and the problem is during this time the scrips / gear will get obsolete because either new gear will come that is much better OR the cap will be raised or stuff lowered so basically doing it that way will be completely senseless and not rewarding at all because future crafters/gatherers will not go through the same grind as us doing it now - just like with the relic weapon quest was lowered to a laughable minimum compared to what you had to go through when u did it before.

    Plus the variety of what u can craft right now is..purely not existent.
    I melded my gear so I WOULD be ABLE to do the new stuff right now - but the question is - WHY would I want to do that? It's completely useless...

    I used to able to craft and gather just everything that i needed. Because of my real life and living on the wrong side of the earth i used to play that way cause i just didnt want to wait for other ppl to help me. The day the red scrips arrived i stoped pushing my crafting classes. I do have GSM, WVR, LTW, CUL and CRP at 60 and all gathering classes too, but i refuse to sit on that many timers to gather up all the mats i need for the red scrip crafts... And all the blue scrips for the 99x6 Rowena's Token... Its just too much.

    I dont mind difficulty in reaching "end game", but this is just silly and it will take away too much time from my real life and my ingame time.
