Playing on tonberry connected from australia

Have people like me who live in australia and play on tonberry noticed a massive spike in laitance on weekends when playing the game, all the friends I have asked seem to have the same problem and none of us have bad net and this has been going on for at least 3 weekends now.
So I am wondering if it truly is more than just just us few because of the last few weekends while the laitance isn't game crippling, it basically stops me from running dungeons or doing alexander on the weekends.

Since you and I are on the same data center, i'll let you know that my group of friends and I have not been feeling such lag spikes this weekend. Though, the night before last 2 people needed to restart their games due to lag (which is nothing new here and there at night for us.)

I both use and I feel like i need a program like WTFast to play FFXIV for latency and the like.
And I am about 30 meters from my nearest exchange too ;_;

I haven't had any lag spikes. I play from Perth. However, I'm on the NBN and still use Battleping.

Show us a tracert from your connection to your server.

You and your friend might have stable connections to your ISP but there's not a straight link to you and SE you have to go through other networks to reach them and it's likely there where the problem is.

The latency you get is an average and normally when questing it's fine but when you do high data content like massive hunts or instances your latency will fluctuate and there's when you need it to be low.

Tunnelling services like WTFast can help by routing the traffic better but ultimately the laws of physics will apply and you can only get it down so fast. Australia to Canada is a massive distance so there's always going to be huge latency but it's probably manageable. Take for instance me, I like in the UK and for MMOs based in Europe I get 30ms on average. On Final Fantasy I get 100ms because the carrier over the Atlantic quotes 70ms so that's always going to be there. Ordinarily it's fine and there are occasions where I get a spike and if I'm not paying 100% attention splat.

Basically, show us a tracert and let's see how it is. It'll at least show where the problem is.
