Red Scripts (gathering)

Remember when gathering was relaxing? when if you wanted to farm some items you could.. remember when your life didnt revolve around the ingame clock? Well I remember and miss it.

after lvling both mining and bot I started to farm scripts, than I had to buy a full hq set and meld perc onto it so I could gather the folklore items. So my gear is pretty good right now. I have 3mining and 1 bot folklore book atm. And this is from spamming the nodes on time and taking cordials like a drug addict. So the end was in sight of getting all my books and being done with this horrible gathering timer.. NOPE

My timers [5am.7am,10am/pm,12am/pm,2am/pm 5pm (soon to have 7pm]

Today they added red scripts and you need to collect the folklore items and get 8... 8!! scripts per turn in... Im sure crafter are not to happy about this either since most of the new mats use red scripts and random other items I have no idea where to get yet.

But you say "well i got alot of the mining books sure you can get the 5am and 7am node to help" well nope both items for scripts today are 5am mining. so thats prolly 1 roweena red script over the time span of 3 hours irl. Guess the only way to fix this is to spam for the rest of my folklore books so I can gather atleast 2 nodes every hour.

Time nodes were ok in 2.0 you had the ones for a few rare items and they were once an irl hour so you could go do stuff and come back and grab what you need. I feel like im glued to my computer due to all the timers and its really taking the joy out of gathering. And ontop of that with the collectibles you make ZERO gil.. Thats why we lvled these classes and yet we have to finish this now even longer gathering go round to get where we can make some gil

TLDR: Tiered of being tied to the clock, red script items need there points raised

Same with crafting, 7 per item crafted, seriously, no blue scrips given at the same time either...

3 weeks of farm to get a tool, yay !

plus with the gear I have and +20gathering food its still 2 hits to unlock the node than 3 hits to get the collectability you need.. than 1.. i count it 1 hit left to possibly get 1 item with 70% chance

This disappoints me, I was looking forward to focusing on gathering and crafting soon as I don't have as long to play so will find it hard to do instanced group content. If it is as clock focused as this I'll never get anywhere. ; ;

you can farm normal items and buy your gathering gear but with red scripts u need all 6 folklore books which use blue scrips on the timers 2,10,12 am/pm. but you dont HAVE to.. but it never ends ...

Well it is possible that the unspoiled that don't need folklore were done on purpose. On my folklore obtained ones I have aurum regis ore, Seventh Heaven and Stupendemys(assuming it's a folklore fish) but see given the mentality it seems they are going for this:

Option 1=Don't need folklore but they all share the same timer so you can't go to all of them
Option 2=Polar timers 5am for ore and 5pm for Seventh Heaven, so you can do both and apparently Supendemys is all day just a bother to catch I imagine.

But overall the options are possible, yes you will have to slightly gear stronger on both miner/botanist to take advantage of option 2 but even with option 1 you are going to have the following time obtaining them.

If say you can get 2 per node, 2 nodes per hour, 4 per hour, 8 per turn in you obtain the following, 32 scrips. You need 450, 14hrs. So it's not that bad in all honesty to cap weekly gather, and with crafting it's about prepping beforehand.

Granted yes nodes may change daily but it should follow the same process of Option 1=2 time unspoiled node and Option 2=Folklore so as you become better geared the process to obtain scrips will become quicker because you'll have an extra node to work with.

If we did assume you could get 3 nodes then you have 48, if 4 nodes 64 so then the time it would take to obtain weekly would be 9-10hrs and 7-8hrs. So ya much like how you can't expect to clear Alexander Savage with the best current gear you could obtain from 3.0/3.01, you can't expect to obtain your weekly scrips with the quickest method until you are better geared for it.

TLDR:

Time to cap Red Gather Scrips

2 Nodes= 14 hrs
3 Nodes= 9-10 hrs
4 Nodes= 7-8 hrs

Spoiler alert: they taste like "orange drink"(you know, vile sticky water that just happens to be orange and leaves a bad aftertaste).

On the subject of this feature, did the patch notes not get updated with the info about them? I mean you go to lodestone, and click on the update we got, and it just links back to the patch notes from a couple days ago. And I can't find any mention/direction on how to get the scrips or anything. I'm really not likely how the transparency is slowly getting less and less these days.

Check your collectibles turn-in list. It should list them.
