    Well I think something to keep in mind is that this gear is suppose to hold us over til 3.2 potentially, they aren't going to add higher tier in 3.1 and odds are what this gear will be good for will come during 3.1, so no we are in a preparation phase where the payoff won't be visible til 3.1. Yes sadly this means we are relying on blind faith atm in hopes that 3.1 will provide new recipes that will make the most out of this top tier gear since again yes at this point in time we are pretty much crafters working off on other crafters and gatherers, we don't have a very strong synergy with DOW/DOM nor do we have synergy in any other aspects such as unique furnitures, vanity gear or anything in high numbers.

    What they could of done to prevent this outroar and fear from the community would of been to implement more higher end recipes into the game that we would want to look forward to, since there isn't much to look forward to the mentality kinda plays off, meh I'll gather the scrips but quite honestly what's the point of investing in the gear atm when there is nothing to look forward to once you are fully geared up. Cause ya from the Carpenter side, whoopie a piece of furniture from savage mode content that probably only comes off from the final boss, there's going to be a buttload of opportunity to make those /sarcasm.

    Basically if I was SE I would of made sure I followed the following bullet points for Recipes:

    -Crafted gear for DOW/DOM
    -Some "high tier" that can be made with a mix of low and high end craft gear
    -A lot more "end game" recipes that you need high end gear to craft and people could look at and go OH sweet I can't wait to reach that.(This part doesn't exist atm)

    It doesn't matter to me that the gear is supposed to last a while. I craft because the act of crafting is fun. Taking on difficult recipes is what I look forward to. But now I can only have my fun twice a week by crafting two 2 star items. Once that's done I can't experience the thrill of crafting a high level recipe. That's absurd and downright contradictory to what crafting should be.

    Rather then going for the main hands, go for the off hands:
    They offer more of a stats upgrade over the currently used tools; since these were only 59, whereas the mainhands were 60.

    Insteading of removing the weekly cap on red scrips;
    1) Move crafting materials to Blue Scrips
    2) Move gatherer favors to Blue Scrips
    3) Boost Red Scrips for both gatherers and crafters so that it's actually possible for "normal" people to actually cap both Esoterics and Red Scrips every week.

    I'm trying to find a way to minimize the amount overmelds we need across the board. Getting a CRP and BSM to overmeld their current equips and invest their melds onto the crafted tools. BSM can make both tools for one class which can give a signifcant stat jump to lower overall melds required.

    I mean if oyu look at it one way, you're gonna get all the other pieces eventually, but you need to get one class up to speed at a time with the stat requirements.

    Actually, that would be the best solution. But in addition the cost of red scrip gear should also be reduced.

    I agree...
    With the current prices, it's going to take way too much time to obtain the gear.

    As things are now, I pretty much lost all interest in crafting, and I'm debating if I should even begin on the gathering red scrips or put that on ice too.

    Crafting has no reason to be so gated.
    There's no point to limiting the potential beyond creating rarity in gear that will ultimately be just vanity for 90% of it. It's just downright silly.

    I don't need removal of Red Scrips cap. I need them to fix the amount of scrips you get per craft/gather. I need them to reduce the time it takes to obtain all the armor. This is very similar gating that ixtal dailies gave us when we were all rushing to craft our Artisan gear. That type of gating was ok. We had the choice to spend weeks earning the Sealant ourselves. Or paying for them from other players. This was good for the economy and good for the players.

    I was not happy to find when I logged in this morning that i was going to have to craft between 30 and 50 items all of which need multiple time nodes worth of expensive materials in order to cap. Then I was not happy to find that those timed node items are the same ones I need in order to cap gathering as well.

    The expansion has been good, except for the gating. The gating in Heavensward has been beyond horrible and YoshiP & Co. desperately need to take note that they have screwed up here. I don't care about the amount we can get each week. I care about pricing of things. I should be able to get one item per week at the very minimum for crafting/gathering. This is not raid content. I enjoyed being able to craft. The crafting system in XIV was hands down the best in any mmo currently out. And now this... it makes a lot of people disheartened.

    Makes me think of something former WoW producer Greg Street recently tweeted out. "I postulated you can never effectively increase game time by drawing things out."
