    Confused about The Hunt

I finally unlocked The Hunt this week.

I read the patch notes again and again.

I can't figure out how to tell what an Elite Mark's rank is.

How do people know whether an Elite Mark requires a full alliance or party or if it is solo-able?

I soloed an Elite Mark today "Sewer Sludge" with SMN lvl53 plus choco and assumed I was supposed to but should I have invited a party? I have never accepted and encountered a Mark on my list that requires more than one person to kill it.

In general, whenever I see a Mark that is not on my accepted bill list, I shout with its <pos> but people start spamming "pls invite". Of course since I did not accept the Mark, I assumed I could not join so I just let ppl know its there and I move on.

What happens to rewards if you don't join a party but participate in the battle?

I read the info and it states that you don't get "bounties" if you don't pre accept the mark from the mark board.

If that is the case, what is considered the bounty? and is there any reward outside if you don't first accept the Mark?

I discovered something today and I am really confused about it. Can't figure out if it is a bug or intentional.

Any info is greatly appreciated? Thanks

IF you see a monster lv 50 or 60 with blue marker, it's a B rank and it's not aggressive.
    If it's red, it's an A or S.

No, there's no rewards if you kill a "B" rank monsters (blue one) if you havent taken a bounty for it.
So you better leave them, or inform people that you have spotted them in an area, other people might need to kill them.
If it's A or S, yes you'll get rewards just by killing them.

If you don't join a party and still participating the fight, you'll only get small rewards, due to your small contributions.
Except for solo tanks that can reap max rewards just by spamming enmity alone. So get tanks when hunting, they can easily carry you for max rewards.

Google is your friend <3 http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Elite_Marks

That aside, you can figure out the names of hunts by visit each zone respectively and talking to the Hunt NPCs in each town. A Ranks and S Ranks will always reward seals and tomestones for killing them, while B ranks are only killed for the weekly hunt log.

A ranks usually require a party ore more to kill. S ranks are like mini raid bosses and require quite a lot of people to kill. B ranks are easily soloable with a chocobo.

So far when I talk to the Hunt npc they talk about marks that I don't have, so I assumed I was doing something wrong. Thank you so much for the info. I will check the google link also. I swear there is nothing on that Hunt board that has an A B or S next to it, yet the patch notes mention ABS ranking.

Ah I was wondering about the color of the tag. Yep even before I unlocked Hunt, I always shout the location of the hunt mobs but did not think to shout the solo ones but I will do that too.

thank you for so much detailed info!!

B will spawn in each area right after being killed, only on a different location. A will spawn with a timer, usually 4 hours or so after being killed. S need to be spawned with certain conditions in an area, such as gatherers gather specific items in a specific area for specific times, or people need to jump from high places and after reaching some amount of damage accumulated the S rank will spawn somewhere in the area, etc. It will not be spawned again before 12 hours or so though, or so I heard.

I appreciate the info. I was wondering about timing but woah that jumping from high places thing sounds so random. Other than from devs, how would some one figure out that trigger? Or are you just being sarcastic?? I'm easy to trick lol.
