Possible other languages for FFXIV?

So the EU base is growing fast, and the only main languages are English, german and french, but i have noticed that e-mails from SE are translated to other languages, is it possible we will be seeing more languages available for the client in the future, specifically Scandinavian languages? Finnish, swedish, norwegian, danish etc etc

Swedish, Norwegian and Danish are similar enough to get away with one or another but Finnish is so far out there on the linguistics side...

As for Swedish, they've got about 8 million speakers just in that country with a like 85% literacy rate in English.

Getting an extra language put in is a huge amount of effort and expense, I believe, so if it's going to happen it'll be for one of the bigger languages, probably Spanish.

Poor Italy, always passed up for Spain . A Spanish translation would be useful for people of Central and South America too though.

Having people to answer tickets in those languages is not as hard working as doing localizations of full patches in every language, which also costs more. On single offline games, SE has always translated games into plenty languages, but online games that get constantly updated, that's expensive and a lot of work.

Hah! I would love to have some Swedish VA, would sound hilarious I can imagine. Swedish dubs often do imo. ^^

i dont want a localization , i just want the chat systems to support the characters of my native language .. its one of the unicodes ,but apparently Japanese is one and it is supported but ours not

Remember that it is a Japanese game. And most should know that Japan have a big population compared to the regional area. So no real surprise that Japanese is a base language for the game.

I live in finland myself, and they say that finnish is very similar to japanese (sounds and speech, not alphabet) i understand it would cost a lot and be more work to maintain but, hmm, what if they allowed the players to contribute towards languages for the auto-translate feature, like Google translate, we, the players could put forward the tranlations, it could go through some checks the they implement it...eh maybe i'm hoping for too much, since english is the world language, but heres hoping

Since that would mean that SE would have to hand out all texts (Quests, tooltips, etc) before a patch hits, this is never going to happen
